I worked at Dickinson College part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Dickinson is a great place to work if you are an administrator, not staff.

    Cons

Staff are treated differently than administrators and faculty, though this is not surprising. Very common practice at colleges.

    Advice to Management

    Improve faculty-staff equity.

I worked at Dickinson College part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I enjoyed all the great food and all the social gatherings.

    Cons

The biggest con is the pay, beware of working casual, what it means is that you can work 1000 h in a school year with no paid time off when students are on break and no form of benefits.stay away from casual work! Be prepared to be on your feet all the time. There's no room to grow there.

    Advice to Management

Be a manager! Know your work!

    Pros

tuition benefits are a nice perk, ample amount of PTO and people are nice

    Cons

they are restructuring many offices on campus and letting qualified, hard working staff go

    Advice to Management

don't terminate experienced, valuable, hard-working staff for younger, cheaper employees

I have been working at Dickinson College part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They respect and treat you right as a person, and they'll teach you the skills you need to do the work. They'll alway help you if you have any questions.

    Cons

The pay could be higher. And the hours can be long, but it isn't too bad as long as you keep yourself busy with homework or something.

    Advice to Management

I don't have too many complaints.
