I worked at Diebold Nixdorf (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Mostly work by yourself. Dont have to report to a base station daily.

    Cons

Working for Diebold in Chicago area is like an abusive relationship. You will be expected that you work 18 hours a day only to have your work scrutinized. Most employees keep there mouth shut because the overtime is the only way to pay the bills since the pay is so low. Managers will follow you without announcing their presence to make sure you're in line. They also ask other employees their opinion on team members and if someone doesnt like you, good luck. Its your basic nightmare.

    Advice to Management

You have metrics to evaluate employees. Following them from a distance and berating them in meetings is a moral killer and good employees will run.

I worked at Diebold Nixdorf full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

you get to work on a variety of equipment; money was ok, but their incentive system was skewed, and just when you thought you had it figured out, they would change it again. The discord between the service teams and upper management was very evident.

    Cons

I worked for almost 10 years with this company and was a team leader for 5+ years.
They canned all of the older employees and bought out their retirement plans to build cash reserves to buy nixdorf. After the older knowledgable employees left, there was a serious issue with getting info/phone help to fix anything. Raises were put on hold for years, and even though some of us stuck it out hoping it would get better, in the end guys were jumping ship like rats. I stayed on, and eventually got laid off. I got no help from HR when issues arose. I wouldnt put any of this on my local manager, his hands were tied by upper management who was very disconnected from what was really going on day to day in the field. near the end my team was disgruntled and tired. I once worked 42 days in a row because we were so understaffed. If I were you, I'd look elsewhere for employment...

    Advice to Management

pull your head out listen to the field techs, we see it day to day. Reimpliment the suggestion system, and USE IT.

    Pros

I honestly can't think of any pros outside of the vehicle, cell phone and WiFi. Run..don't walk in the other direction.

    Cons

The workload is ridiculous. The pay is a joke. They take on more work without an increase in pay. We're expected to service equipment we haven't had training on. They also want us to sell equipment to customers for a "bonus". I was hired as a locksmith not a damn salesman. Diebold is joke, I'm looking for a way out.

    Advice to Management

Get your head out of your rearends! Pay people what they are worth. No raises, no bonuses, not even a cost of living increase. Forget about a promotion.

    Pros

Good benefits, including health, 401k and perks. Company car is provided and tools like smart phone and laptop.

    Cons

extremely long hours, including nights, weekends and holidays. It doesn't matter you have already worked 20 hours OT they still expect you to do more and they questioned you why there is so many service calls not been completed when there is only 3 techs to cover all the area that 6 people used to cover. More equipment and products to serve yet they dont give a raise for training taken.

    Advice to Management

If you don't want your customers screaming on why they haven't get service and you don't want your best people to leave then hire more people. I still don't know how paying so much OT and outside contractors is cost effective.
