I worked at Diebold Nixdorf full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

In 2004-2008 this was an awesome company to work for. So much freedom, support, management had your career in mind. Now they are just a machine. Chew up people and spit them out.

    Cons

CEO has a vision that gets diluted down by the time it reaches the local offices, most offices don't practice what they preach. Divesting the majority of their legs of business to become basically an ATM/Software company with the aquisition of Wincor Nixdorf -- Cell control & GPS on every service vehicle. Management picks out the lowest stat you're team isn't making and goes berserk over it. Too many lines of product support for any single technician to be a master at a single thing. Hires off the street, doesn't attempt to retain talent. Attrition is the new Diebold.

    Advice to Management

You brought Andy Mattes in to clean things up and had several town halls on Diebold 2.0 and then divested the security group and sold it to Securitas. Makes tons of sense, right?

I worked at Diebold Nixdorf full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

work from home. Company provided technology and vehicle.

    Cons

ATM service around the clock. Salaried with overtime for after hours and weekends. Contract obligations require you to not have a life due to being on call and running calls all of the time after hours and weekends. Then when you turn in your hours you get yelled at for having too much overtime.

    Advice to Management

Need to refocus on the customer and not the shareholder.

    Pros

No Pros working for this company. There are very good technician that deserve better than this company and have great personalities.

    Cons

Management are not honest and company does not pay enough for the work that is performed. It really is not a good company to work for.

    Advice to Management

Stop lying to employees and respect them

    Pros

Great people working in the front lines (technicians/software engineers). Good training. Can be a fun job if you don't mind working 80-90 hours a week.

    Cons

Terrible work-life balance, upper management cares very little about employees. Managers are given ridiculous workload and expectations (I had over 40 direct reports when I left). Products are average but maybe Wincor can provide a boost to the quality of their ATMs. Constant layoffs while I was there.

    Pros

Not too many good things to say since Andy Mattes became CEO.

    Cons

Work load is well beyond what one person can effectively and efficiently manage. Skilled personnel were let go to bring in cheaper less experienced people. Stocks show company going down the tube.

    Advice to Management

Doesn't really matter they didn't listen then they definitely won't listen now.

I have been working at Diebold Nixdorf full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Good work/life balance
    Decent benefits
    Great co-workers

    Cons

    Management cannot make decisions
Employees have no responsibility or empowerment
Decisions are announced but then management waffles
When lay-offs come, they often get rid of their best workers because those are the ones making the most money
People are constantly thrown into roles they haven't been trained for and expected to succeed even though the company will not train them or even have someone mentor them
No raises for many years, no bonuses, no cost-of-living adjustments. Costs go up but salaries don't go up with them.

    Advice to Management

    We need better leadership
    Employees need to be empowered
People who make decisions need to be better informed
Stop losing good talent by laying off your best workers and not giving raises for so many years

I worked at Diebold Nixdorf full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Diebold provide company car, gas card and all the over-time you want.

    Cons

Diebold do not give raises every year. Managers do not care about your health or safety. If a senior technician does not like you, manager will try their best to get replace you. Doesn't matter if you got previous skills or certificates. Diebold has a high turn over rate. So do not get comfortable and always be prepared to find a new job.

    Advice to Management

My advice for upper management, I will have to say please take the time to do an internal investigation on the DFW branch in Texas. Due to the simple fact during that Dallas shooting on July 7, 2016, the on-duty manager had several technicians stuck around that area. Begging other other technicians to pick up the those where stuck in that general main area. Put there life into danger. When Diebold provide security service for any type of situation that occurs. I have witnessed discrimination towards other associates. I've seen and spoke to other associates that report to their manager bout discrimination. Yet the manager did not resolve the issue nor discipline matters happens. I truly believe, if upper management take the time to read this review. They need to take the time to do a real deep internal investigation on the DFW branch in Texas.

I worked at Diebold Nixdorf full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Local company, been around for a while, Meet a lot of great people, some of which I talk to still today.

    Cons

No workforce development, Devalues certain positions in the company, No career advancement, 6 layoffs in 8 years (fortunate to still have had a job).

    Advice to Management

Value your workforce, help in there development, understand you are only as good as your workforce, Examine your hiring practices (it is nice to hire people but it is very stressful having to go through potential layoffs every year), Value IT properly, IT is the back bone of any company, but if it is not given the resources then the company struggles to thrive.

    Pros

A lot of opportunity to advance, due to high turn over. NE Ohio is a really nice place to live.

    Cons

Diebold is in a constant state of panic cost cutting. It is a lay-off culture, keep your resume current.

    Advice to Management

Panic cost cutting and lay-offs do not keep happy employees. Nobody performs well with this kind of pressure.

I have been working at Diebold Nixdorf full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Diebold name looks good on a resume.

    Cons

No internal communication, employee education, or direction. All management make decisions based on dollars instead of keeping the talent and doing what it is right for the workers and the company.

    Advice to Management

Cannot cut your way or buy your way to prosperity. Get out clouds and walk a while in the workers shoes before making a decision you have no clue about. Hire management that knows the business and just does not know someone.
