Exceptional company to work for!
Oct 2, 2019 - Writer in Miami, FLRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Diet Doctor is an outstanding company to work for in every way. Teamwork, camaraderie, and mutual respect among all employees are a huge part of the culture here. We all work hard to achieve our mission of empowering people to dramatically improve their health. Although leadership values our contributions to the company, they also make sure we devote time to self care.
Cons
There are no cons to working at Diet Doctor.

Phenomal place to work and help change the world
Sep 3, 2019 - Medical DirectorRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Mission driven company focused on helping people improve their health and helping change the way the world see a healthy low carb lifestyle. Amazing group of people with a culture of collaboration, team work, incredible communication, and inspiring rach other.
Cons
I live in the US and the company is based in Sweden. But they still do an amazing job of keeping us connected with regular video conferences and trips to Sweden a few times per year

Inexperienced and delusional leadership
Apr 14, 2023 - Team MemberRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Colleagues are friendly and the office is close to central station.
Cons
Leadership in this company is delusional and inexperienced. There is a lack of clear direction and strategic planning, with decisions being made impulsively and without proper consideration of the consequences. This lack of effective leadership has resulted in a disorganized and chaotic work environment, leaving employees feeling unhappy and undervalued. You should not expect to be hired as an expert, as the leadership often disregards input from knowledgeable staff and believes they know better. There appears to be a recurring pattern of laying off staff, without fully comprehending the significance of these individuals to the company, including their skills and tenure within the organization. Employees can feel secure in the company one day, only to be unexpectedly terminated the next day. I would not recommend this workplace.

It could have been so good
Mar 22, 2023 - Anonymous Employee in Stockholm, StockholmRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The people: most colleagues are inspiring, kind, fun, and skilled people with a growth mindset and sense of purpose to do good in the world. (don't know how so many of them end up at a company run by this leadership.) The mission: DD has truly saved lives and helped countless people improve their health. Knowing my work plays a roll in the incredible success stories we get makes it very meaningfull. 5000kr/year wellness grant (friskvårdsbidrag). Used to be flexible with hybrid work, which helped me be more efficeint and organise my time to get my best focus. There were other nice perks (team dinners, sponsored courses, dinner when you work overtime, etc.) that are on hold but which might come back later, who knows? There's chances for fast advancement, depends on your role.
Cons
Delusional leadership that is incompetent and deaf, ignores expert advice and running the company into the ground because "innovation." I've heard them say they want to move fast and break things, like Mark Zuckerberg, but they don't seem to mind to break people, too. "Doctor mindset" of knowing what is good for people and assuming that everyone will want what you sell. because you're an expert (without validation and then changing the direction of the entire company). They used to offer paid overtime, and then switched to a normal 40 hours a week, without adjusting expectations of work. Many people are scared not to work extra (now unpaid) because they don't want to be a weak link. If you get promoted high enough, you are basicaly expected to work over time. If you aren't slitting your wrists under their noses, you become disposable. They don't have a collective bargaining agreement (kollektivavtal) and they are often on the line between legal and illegal, sometimes using scare tactics to pressure foreigners who don't know the Swedeish laws. This is not a normal company. No HR. It's a culture where the company is the most important thing to preserve, disconected somehow from the people who actualy make the company exist. A big number of great people have been quitting since summer 2022 because of frustration at leadership and toxic culture. Lack of strategy from leadership: for example, in a recent lay offs, they got rid of all the mothers (and noone else) in the office and it cut the only teams in the company that were actually earning money. They realized this after it was to late. But there was definitely a strategy and it had nothing to do with that they are mothers... Poor/nonexistant communication.

Pros
Coworkers, but not in leadership!
Cons
The leadership has no clue where the company is going. After months (even years) of telling them that we where not ok, they find out (wait for it...) that we were almost broke! Even with that, they moved to an entire new office, nonsense. Their idea of expanding the company from 50 to 1000 and "more" was at least naive to say the least. They have no vision, no values, no strategy, basically they are reacting based on what they see. Plans? No thanks. We have raised our concerns on gender equity... "they were working on them". 100% male leadership.

Great company to work at
Nov 27, 2022 - Software Developer in Stockholm, StockholmRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
They are a closely-knit group working on something they genuinely believe in. Their mission is clear and they do their best to be a good work environment
Cons
It's not a very large org, so don't expect a lot of promotions or moving up in the company.

- You can learn a lot in a short amount of time - There are some lovely and intelligent colleagues - You are working for a worthy cause
Cons
- Toxic workplace with micromanagement and lack of trust - Work/life balance is not valued - Repeated history of firing people without any warning - No one in leadership has business experience so many questionable decisions are made

Health company not so healthy
Jan 20, 2022 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Being able to own some of the company is available to all employees. Fast moving and interesting work. In general, very friendly and helpful colleagues who all work incredibly hard.
Cons
If you don’t fit the company’s vision you will be pushed out quickly. Passive aggressive behavior from management toward some staff they no longer fitted their standard.
