I have been working at Digi International full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I feel like I'm not "entry-level" and that what I do is important and high-level.

    Cons

The training was a little lacking. They need to standardize the training. It took me 4 months to actually understand what I was doing and I'm still not fully trained.

I worked at Digi International as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great work life balance, everyone is very friendly and will do everything they can to help you succeed. Excellent place to start out as an intern.

    Cons

Pay is not very competitive. Always felt like the engineers had too many things to do and would get switched on projects every couple weeks.

    Advice to Management

If you want to keep the best of the best, you will have to pay them more, otherwise they will seek employment elsewhere.

    Pros

Friendly co worker and nice manager. Nice mentor, They helped the interns out and assigned student projects to individual. Good experience here.

I worked at Digi International as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Positive experience for a first internship. Caring manager who was dedicated to both maximizing my value in the company and providing a learning environment. Ability to set own work hours. Company-wide celebrations w/ food every Friday in the summer.

    Cons

Upper management was against sharing a number of things with interns, which made it hard to work around some issues. Saw a decent amount of employee turn over.

    Advice to Management

Share information with interns who need to know as part of their jobs. If security is a concern, NDA them. It doesn't make sense to pay people just to keep them in the dark, especially when it interferes with their duties.

I have been working at Digi International (Less than a year)

    Pros

Digi has been going through a lot of change in the past two years and high employee turn-over, but with the appointment of our new CEO, Ron Konezny, there have already been positive changes in the making. He brings in transparency, collaboration and the genuine desire to see the employees satisfied and reach their goals.

The salaries may not be the highest in the industry by comparison, but let's not forget that the benefits, 401K and flex time are great. Few companies these days offer the comprehensive package that Digi brings to the table.

    Cons

Upper Management needs to do a better job of recognizing the value that the employees provide.

    Advice to Management

Continue down the path of transparency, collaboration and remind your employees of the great contributions and value they provide.
