I worked at DigiCaptions India part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Used to be a good company.

    Cons

No respect for experienced staff. They'd rather hire inexperienced freshers for peanuts than give a raise to an older part-time employee and make him permanent.
Their hiring standards have fallen below par. They hire any sort who can barely pass their test, and this is turn leads to below par editors who're just in it for the peanuts and some work experience.
Quit ASAP when you hear your company has been taken over. They have no value for employees from other companies and you'll be treated like you barely exist.
They have no benefits for part-time employees, however long you've been working for them.
Highly unprofessional human resources team. They have no clue what's going on with each other and love doling out unfulfilled promises. They cannot resolve simple issues and prefer to blame third parties for their inconsistencies. The attrition rate in the HR team itself is unsettling.
They lose employees everyday and don't care about retaining the staff they've spent time and money to train.
The editorial team is divided in two buildings and the management has no clue that some employees work from home and pretend to be in office. This has been happening for more than six months.
You'll get any future opportunities in the company only if you're best friends with senior staff.
You'll earn twice more as a freelancer, don't bother joining them full time.

    Advice to Management

Scrap the editorial department senior managers and/or provide training in management and soft skills. They're clueless and refuse advice from experienced staff. They love gossiping amongst themselves like teenagers.

Everyone feels they have a business to give you advice whether it is called for or not. Whether you are an employee or not.

    Advice to Management

I attended an interview at DigiCaptions. I had a bad experience with the staff. In all fairness I was writing the test. My mobile was out yes, because I just had a word with my husband and was expecting a call back since he was on his way to pick me up. I had also stated I am new to the place.

Some female employee ends up telling me to keep my mobile in when my mobile wasn't even on. And she did that when she was on a call!!! I am not writing a board exam! And the person at the reception too tells me to keep my mobile in!!! If having a mobile out is an issue then it should be informed. I did keep it aside also made the volume high which was on silent.

When I was filling the reference details since I don't know the numbers by heart, I got the mobile out again for the number. To this the person at the reception tells me to put the mobile in again. I am not a kid and I do not have the need to copy for a test.

Whether I get a job or not it has left a negative impression on me. The lady had no business to make me feel like some kid in front of all people there. I have worked in the HR and am a mature person to not stoop to something so trivial as copying.

Hope the others who come down are not made to feel in the same way.
