I worked at Digital Domain for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great people to work with. They are very open to allowing growth within the company.

    Cons

The hours can sometimes be harsh. By and large this is just the nature of the industry.

I have been working at Digital Domain full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Friendly people who have great insights and are always eager to help, they have exciting projects, which always try to push the envelope. New Management has been brought in, and it's too early to judge, but the people that stayed seem to be making good decisions.

    Cons

Work (Space) conditions are dark and crowded due to the nature of the work, compositors / lighters need to be able to judge color. The location is in a crowded industrial area, and parking is a real problem.

    Advice to Management

    Move to another building

I have been working at Digital Domain

    Pros

The best part of this company is the people; everyone is very friendly and you feel like you're part of a great team.

    Cons

People can sometimes have big egos; and depending on position, office politics can be annoying.

    I worked at Digital Domain

    Pros

Some interesting projects. Limited autonomy to try and do something new and creative.

    Cons

Extremely bad politics. Staff that have been there for a long time are hostile and territorial. Departments do not work well together. No communication from management. Pipeline is disorganized and reinvented every project because people always leave after their experience.

    Advice to Management

    Clean house.

I worked at Digital Domain full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great projects to work on. The people were great to be with and are very talented. I also loved the Venice location.

    Cons

The communication on the shows were lacking especially between the studios. The pipeline is always being worked on, which is very old and needs an update.

    Advice to Management

Find out the strengths of the artists, the challenges they are looking for, and how they can jump into those challenges, even if they are not in the department.

I worked at Digital Domain full-time

    Pros

The people were great, and most of the projects were interesting. And the work produced was always top class - something to be proud of.

    Cons

Not enough money or resources (not management's fault) and a terrible attitude toward the staff (which is management's fault). Since moving, the place is pretty ghetto as well.

    Advice to Management

People matter. A lot of good people have left or been pushed out, and not replaced, and there seems to be an attitude that all the staff are overpaid and could easily be replaced with someone cheaper.
