Great company if you are passionate for the work. Otherwise it might turn into actual 'work'.

    Pros

    * The job is challenging and quite satisfying when a goal is reached. * Good pay and typical perks in correlation to industry standards. * You will work with some absolute brilliant minds. * Nice social events take place occasionally. * Daily catering when things get hectic.

    Cons

    * Profits are still difficult to turn, causing management cut corners in many areas. * Infrastructure is less than stellar, causing a band-aid approach to many problems.

A good place to stay and improve your skills. but not a good place for a long term career.

    Pros

full of challenges and working for all A list movies. Open to access the knowledge in the studio. colleagues are smart and with specialties.

    Cons

Too many erragant ppls very hard to work with. some things really confusing, nobody will explain to you. like the timecard is worst system. I mean it's good, but timecard trainning is nightmare, never told you anything you need to know. a lot of little things nobody told you how to do, but once you do it not in the properly way, some jackass will jump out and send you a really rude email and pissed you off.

    Pros

Full of great people, artists, great projects, historical and iconic in the business. I felt much pride and fun working there.

    Cons

Management needs to get things organized at times. The facility isn't the best. Since bankruptcy, there are no free drinks or snacks.

Not a real business... more like a rich man's hobby

    Pros

You meet a lot of interesting people at the revolving door.

    Cons

Missing: Management, business planning, business process, pipeline, meaningful organizational design, communication planning (!!), consistent use of standards and tools, technical managers, sales pipeline, business operations plan - utterly missing Found: reckless team players who are most focused on their own ideas and not quality outcomes, desperate measures to deliver work, poor team work, cliques, politics at every level, poor communications on things that matter.

Once a great place to work... now...

    Pros

At one time DD was a wonderful hub of smart, creative and technically inclined artists, programmers, former scientists, and misfits (in the best way) who all collaborated to make great visuals. Now things are very different.

    Cons

A portion of the remaining supervisors are very good people to work with. Some however, actively seek to undermine those whom they perceive to be a threat to their authority. Others have moved on to other companies. Still others have left the industry completely.

    Leaderless Mess at DDT

    Pros

Interesting and exciting tech with potential: VR, MR, AR, etc.

    Cons

A mess of a company. Severe lack of leadership and direction that is reflected in the code base and the product. A mentality of reinventing the wheel and the grass is always greener, especial if the grass is some shiny new technology. Projects are littered with a zoo of frameworks, new ones incompletely replacing old ones, so you are left with a patch work quilt that is brittle and not able to be maintained. Toxic culture of mistrust because of multiple layoffs, bonus programs that are announced but never come, and performance reviews that are promised but are always "next year".

    Pros

The people there were just great. It was a family. You got training when you needed it. and everyone was always so happy to go to work.

    Cons

DDMG needed to last long enough so that I could retire with the company in thirty years. My time with DDMG was too short.

    Creative Folks

    Pros

Creative Talent with normal crunch time sprints. But team player atmosphere, really great.

    Cons

Management layers makes the company a bit top heavy, and slow to get decisions made. Not as nimble as smaller companies, but I think that comes with the nature of a larger VFX house.

    Great Place to Work

    Business Outlook

    Pros

The best part of this company is the people; everyone is very friendly and you feel like you're part of a great team.

    Cons

People can sometimes have big egos; and depending on position, office politics can be annoying.
