I worked at Digital Domain full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great projects to work on. The people were great to be with and are very talented. I also loved the Venice location.

    Cons

The communication on the shows were lacking especially between the studios. The pipeline is always being worked on, which is very old and needs an update.

    I worked at Digital Domain

    Pros

Some interesting projects. Limited autonomy to try and do something new and creative.

    Cons

Extremely bad politics. Staff that have been there for a long time are hostile and territorial. Departments do not work well together. No communication from management. Pipeline is disorganized and reinvented every project because people always leave after their experience.

I have been working at Digital Domain full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You meet a lot of interesting people at the revolving door.

    Cons

Missing: Management, business planning, business process, pipeline, meaningful organizational design, communication planning (!!), consistent use of standards and tools, technical managers, sales pipeline, business operations plan - utterly missing Found: reckless team players who are most focused on their own ideas and not quality outcomes, desperate measures to deliver work, poor team work, cliques, politics at every level, poor communications on things that matter.

I worked at Digital Domain full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - A history in visual effects worth being proud of. - Compensation is roughly in line with the standard.

    Cons

    - Backstabbing, political environment. - Carrots waved in front of employees with no intention of following through. - Ancient, frustrating pipeline. - There seems to be a gung-ho attitude by senior staff members that we can burn through newer contract workers by brute forcing everything as opposed to careful planning and organizing your core business efficiently. - No interest in advancing the pipeline towards modern, efficient ways of working which is costing them work and turning away the most top level talent.

I worked at Digital Domain for less than a year

    Pros

Friendly, relaxed atmosphere with great projects and good pay. There is a 'chillout' room and a foosball tournament was organized while I was there. As far as I saw artists weren't micro managed.

    Cons

The pipeline could be streamlined a bit but due to he company size it's hard to affect any change. For the same reason moving up in your department is a struggle too. Oh and DD has gone bankrupt twice so that was always in the back of my mind.
