    Pros

Great collection of people to work with.

    Cons

As a contractor, it doesn't matter how effective you are at your job. You won't get hired on until Executive Management can budget more people. Even then they are probably backed up, so you will see the less effective person who has been there longer get hired before you.

I have been working at Digital Motorworks full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Good people in support groups
    Free coffee
    Nice location
Good entry level job to get experience so you can move to a better company

    Cons

    Poor upper and middle management
A lot of emphasis on employees being at work yet no accountability for actually doing your job
No flexibility for work life balance
No room for negotiation in salary when getting a promotion, if the rare opportunity presents itself which means that if there is a pay increase at all, it is usually very little.
Outsourcing US positions to India to put money more in investors pockets
Cutting the few employee perks out to "save money" even though we're constantly told how great the company is doing
Concentration on layoffs in the support group when there is a huge need for house cleaning in middle and upper management for people who are just showing up and flying under the radar
No incentives for the good employee to stay

    Advice to Management

Treat employees as though they really matter
Work on training opportunities so that you have internal employees prepared to fill higher level jobs
Put competitive pay in place to retain good employees
Begin holding ALL levels of employees accountable and get rid of the ones that use others to cover up their incompetence or don't bother covering it up at all

    Pros

has a great work environment, and good upper management.

    Cons

DMI is part of CDK Global and with this being a new publicly traded company big changes are happening that may not be good for local business employees.

I have been working at Digital Motorworks full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good entry level position, opportunities to build resume and advance slightly. Helpful people and good work environment for the most part. The direct managers for support are all great.

    Cons

Pay is below average, promotions are done annually by putting you before a "board of review" consisting of people that you don't work with regularly, promotions aren't considered outside of this window. After years with the company, and monthly pep rallies where our GM talks about our record profits and growth, the company has decided to move it's support operations and some development jobs to what was previously a satellite office in India. The layoffs are not to save the business, they will be filling the positions again in India, but has decided rather than backfill in that office they will fire 60 people here to slash costs for the new CEO. There is zero job security.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees, this company has been built on their backs and to fire them to shove a little more money in investors pockets is not only unethical to do to your employees, it hurts the American economy.

I worked at Digital Motorworks full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I had a lot of fun working with these guys on some very challenging technical problems and even with all of the difficulty, we ended up successful. I had plenty of desk space with two monitors and a powerful workstation. The role was very independent and offered a lot of freedom for me to contribute value in the best way I saw fit. I was basically my own manager which was pretty cool.

    Cons

60 minute mandatory "all-hands" meetings once a month in our largest conference room that didn't have enough chairs and ended up with people standing out in the hallway blocking the elevators. I just stopped going after one or two of these things.

    Pros

They people in general are great, but the fact that lower management is untrained and never gets fired is only a PRO for them.

    Cons

The future of promotion is always talked about positively, but you will soon see that the vision of hope is a fantasy.

    Advice to Management

Hold lower management accountable. Do not demote people, fire them if they are not doing what is expected.

I worked at Digital Motorworks full-time

    Pros

Quite friendly environment, tolerant of foibles, mistakes, and quirks. Nice onsite perks like yoga classes or occasional company outings to arcades and bars. Once you are an employee instead of a contractor your benefits are tremendous.

    Cons

Upper management is often shrouded in secrecy from the frontline workers, so upper management usually doesn't seem to take into consideration what the frontliners are seeing and doing. Getting from contractor to employee is often times difficult.
