    Pros

Cool technology, great benefits, located in a beautiful area. They design and operate earth observing satellites, for Christ's sake!

    Cons

A corrosive, soul-crushing culture that does not value it's employees in anyway except as it pertains to financial considerations. Not ethical in the way management and the company structure treats its own people.

    Advice to Management

My advice is to delete your account. Seriously. You are not the kind of people that I would wish upon anyone to work for. The most ethically challenged management that I've yet to come across in a career of more than a quarter-century.

I worked at DigitalGlobe full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Schedule is very flexible, excellent communication from upper management, benefits were great, 4 weeks time off and pretty much closed down at Christmas time. Overtime is allowed. Workout facility onsite.

    Cons

As the company grew in size it became less of a family atmosphere. Went from knowing everyone to hardly know in anyone.

I worked at DigitalGlobe (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked for GeoEye which was bought out by Digital Globe. It's a great environment where you learn a lot and actually are driving towards a mission need.

    Cons

At times work could be stressful requiring weekend work.

    Advice to Management

No issues when I was there.

    Pros

The culture and people in the company are among the best I've ever worked with. The work/life balance is amazing and I hear very few complaints about the work itself. There is also lots of mobility and opportunities to learn other positions and move within the company.

    Cons

There is a ton of red tape with trying to get anything changed or truly moving.
Although the overall culture is good, some departments are much more toxic compared to others.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the employees and their ideas and continue to bridge the gap between the upper management and the worker bees.

    Pros

Brilliant engineers. Beautiful HQ. Excellent benefits. Supportive HR.

    Cons

Well-meaning senior leadership that were/are not experienced in transforming a DoD company into a commercial revenue powerhouse. The senior leadership missed said "no" to multiple opportunities to become a true and rare unicorn in 2009, 2010, 11, 14, 15... Google wanted them to build some cool stuff - DG said no. Microsoft asked, and DG walked. They get in the way of themselves, then are late to market or become an also ran, or a content provider to game changers when they could have changed the game if they hadn't had such fearful leadership. The company needed leadership from the tech world to succeed outside of DoD. Instead, they got leaders from documentation and reference information. Dull. And, the management team comes across as dull.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing - go back to your roots. But, figure out what it takes to be a gold medalist... why are you guys happy with silver and bronze?

I have been working at DigitalGlobe full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great personal growth opportunities. The health care is the best I have had in the DC metro area. The 401k and salary are above the industry standard.

    Cons

The only con I have found so far is that you are only allowed to carry two weeks of vacation.

    Advice to Management

Allow more employees to have stock options and profit sharing.

I worked at DigitalGlobe full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Cutting edge technology for customers, small company with less process, and mission focused.

    Cons

The internal technology has room for improvement. Their IT support team is not very good, slow, and couldn't seem to fix the most basic things. And, the IT support center is actually outsourced to another company of contractors. The Software Developers in the VA office are difficult to work with and at times obnoxious and rude. The executives mean well, but have no concept of how a real federal contractor should operate.

    Advice to Management

Take lessons from the big boys! And, don't take yourself so seriously.

DG is an awesome company to work for. Awesome culture, great benefits and some of the most talented individuals I've ever worked with.

    Cons

Still finding our footing on how to hold off small competition from "Small SAT" companies.

    Advice to Management

Continue the frequent, open communication to the teams.

I worked at DigitalGlobe full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Great colleagues with plenty of knowledge regarding geospatial analysis and data development
    - Good location in downtown Tampa

    Cons

    - Management slow to implement changes
    - Don't recognize the talent that employees have and employ them in manner that is truly meaningful
    - Care more about the bottom line profit than the development of own staff

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees when they have something that can provide meaningful development for the company. You do not realize the talent that you have and you must become more innovative with the huge amount of resources available to you. There needs to be a greater connection between corporate and regional offices. Feels like the corporate structure of the company is hindering any further business opportunities.
