I worked at Dignity Health part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The workload is acceptable and the teamwork from fellow therapists can't be beat!

    Cons

As a PRN employee with another full time job, there's pressure to pick up extra shifts during their busy season.

I have been working at Dignity Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Family friendly environment. Employee satisfaction is a big concern at Dignity and they do a great job of giving you the flexibility to do your job. Not a micro managed environment. Pension and amazing health coverage for the times. Very spiritual facility, not just religiously so, but in a way that is more one of compassion. Some of the most genuinely friendly and patient concerned people I have worked with. They have schedule flexibility and industry appropriate compensation. Layoffs are rare at Dignity unlike other hospital groups. Work from home a day or more a week depending on who your manager is. Senior management has no issue meeting with anyone in the organization. There are no off limits questions or recommendations from any level of employee. The whole human kindness thing really isn't just a marketing phrase.

    Cons

I work at an inner city hospital which is an amazing place to work but there are issues with parking, older buildings that could use work, very busy demographic, and not the most lucrative area. There is some belt tightening just like all hospitals right now given the current political state, but they do a great job making that all work. Dignity is in need a big upgrade to its data storage structures. What is in place now is safe and secure, it just isn't exactly enterprise wide friendly so there is a lot of duplicate work happening to get information out to staff that really shouldn't. They are in the process of updating this.

    Advice to Management

Continue to appreciate your employees as mush as possible. Don't underestimate how much savings there are throughout the system if change adoption was more heavily enforced. I think work at home could be expanded a bit more for non clinical staff, but otherwise keep up the good work.

I have been working at Dignity Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free medical and low cost dental benefits for myself and kids. Lots of jobs to apply for internally. Easy transitions to new positions.

    Cons

My commute sucks. Management seems to have their favorites. Very political. Employees don't always show human kindness. They also seem unorganized.

I have been working at Dignity Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Easy work, pays well, fun environment

    Cons

Management is awful! And there is no HR on campus, or even in Arizona, every complaint is through phone or email and there are never sit down meetings to resolve issues. The management harassment is extensive and at one time 6 employees quit in 3 months due to the harassment.

    Advice to Management

Calm the eff down. Relax and trust your employees, being all over them and writing them up every other minute creates a hostile work environment that creates a huge turn over rate.
