I worked at Dillon Transport full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Home everyday and decent money lots of different options to learn new things. Overall very decent place to work equipment not horrible either.

    Cons

Management doesn't have good communication skills. Also there are times when you may have to wait for equipment and wait time at some areas where you make pickups
so you may spend more time out than you need to.

    Advice to Management

    Need more employee meetings.

    Pros

just got out of cdl school. training last 15 days . im making between 790 to 900 a week .if you dont like running hard (11 to 13hrs) , stay away. there are drivers who dont run hard and complain they are not making money. job is easy ones you complete your training. if you last a year without problems, then you will get the good money and good hours.

    Cons

they say dont smoke while driving.... they still do.

I worked at Dillon Transport full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Drivers can get some experience if you can get through the training part. They also pay for your physical card etc.

    Cons

Mostly have CNG trucks. No support from Corporate for mechanical, business building etc. horrible and deceptive business practices. Dishonesty to employees and customers. No pay raises for mechanics and dispatch staff. Equipment isn't maintained well. Dispatchers beware. They'll lay you off even if you help build their business and customers. Sketchy and shady corporate. Drivers will be ok for a while. Stay out of the office, they won't and don't value you.

    Advice to Management

You need to pay attention to who is loyal to your company instead of the ones who have no intention of promoting the company positively.

    Pros

Safety bonus, home daily, trucks are fairly good condition compared to some companies, good about time off for family emergency

    Cons

Too much favoritism, drivers that get short millage loads while others get loads that take more time , unpredictable load counts, paid by the load, family insurance very expensive

    Advice to Management

Go to some of the leases and see the road conditions of the county and lease roads. Take in the consideration of the milage and time spent once off the main roads also.

    Pros

New trucks, you can make decent amount of money if you are willing to put in the work,

    Cons

The management could careless about you,it you have a family issue, you get sick, don't ask to be off, they believe that the company comes first, forget about having a life outside the job, you will start working over night, your day's off will be during the week, this place turn in to a night mare

    Advice to Management

Start treating the back bone of your company like people instead of just another number

I have been working at Dillon Transport full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    It's a paycheck.
    The shippers are cool guys.
Some of the drivers are really helpful.
There's satellite radio in the trucks to ease the pain of working for them.

    Cons

The mgmt is a HUGE joke; rude and won't speak to you at all. Not quite sure they actually serve a purpose.

The trucks are crap and barely maintained. No torque. Smell like smoke. The lights are so dim you can barely see the road.

    The trailers are ridiculous.

Dispatch will lie and have you take trailers without getting paid

Pay is a joke for the hours you put in.

You will NEVER see home and they don't care.

Dillion couldn't care less about you.

    Advice to Management

Learn to treat drivers with respect. This is why your turnover rate is so high. I've never seen a company go through so many drivers. You can't keep them because your management sucks. Your ethics suck. Your pay package sucks.

    Cons

Everything, Slipseating, smoking allowed in trucks,if you don't smoke, your problem.
Natural gas trucks, lack of maintaining equipment. No respect for drivers from management.

    Pros

If you have won the lottery and are bored, this job will keep you busy enough for that

    Cons

If you like working 14 hours a day and being paid for approximately nine of them, this is the job for you .

They will tell you the customer does not pay for this and that every time you ask
to be paid for your time, then stop asking your drivers to do it, problem solved.

    Advice to Management

If you were not paid for you all of your time, how would that work out for you and your family? Want safer drivers? Pay them for their time , so they're not making up for lost time,( free time) Drivers do not owe you their time for free!
