I worked at Dimension Data as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good IT, flexible working arrangement, good internal communications systems in place like Yammer. Articulate staff.

    Cons

very dogmatic to get things done. Lots of people sitting on conf calls wasting a lot of valuable time.

    Advice to Management

improve managers people management skills and make sure their day to day behaviour and treatment of people is in line with company's vision. Most of the senior manager's attitude is my way or highway. .....

    Pros

Excellent work environment for those who want a lot of latitude in how to achieve their goals. Involved peers and training tools.

    Cons

Management can often seem hesitant in making decisions. Multiple tools to use to get things done but no over reaching central connection between them which makes research difficult.

    Advice to Management

Centralize, organize and evolve data sharing and accessibility.

They keep making changes for the better , i just want it to stay the same .

    Advice to Management

Good firm to work for. Invest a lot in cutting edge technologies so if you're career oriented and want to climb up the later this is the place. Friendly people, my immediate managers were always reachable whenever i needed.

    Cons

Internal job movement had been extremely tough for me. Although I an was on-site engineer and paid well, i wanted to grow along with the rapid technology growth. I tried for over 4-5 years but then eventually gave up and quit. Now working for the competetor

Focus on true career development, managers that know how to manage people and have a genuine interest in people development and not managing up
