Reviews about "attorneys"
Return to all Reviews- Former Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
Good pay, amazing people to work with, flexible, great environment. Office administrator super nice, easy to talk to and understanding. Attorneys are great to work with and very patient. Supporting staff is all about team work and helping each other out.
Cons
No 401K matching; Pay for parking; employee benefits not so great.

Pros
High salary and generous vacation time
Cons
High stress with a very heavy workload. Work gets loaded onto the hardworking staff members while other staff who underperform fill their day doing personal things, texting, shopping online and even using the firm computers to update their resume and save job applications for other employers. Management knows but does nothing. They seem to believe that having one person carry 85% of the load while another carries 15% is somehow an equitable division. They just don't seem to care. There is a very high staff turnover rate and an increasing number of attorneys have left. Health insurance plan is not very good.

Pros
Great legal environment and a place where attorneys can grow their practice.
Cons
Absolutely nothing. Everything about the firm is fantastic.
- Current Employee, less than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
The pace of the office is exciting and fast. The attorneys are helpful and friendly and excited to give advice. The work is interesting and I have gained a lot of experience.
Cons
There seems to be a culture of working around the clock - but that is how it is in the legal world.

Pros
Good people have been there a long time - not sure why they stayed to be honest. Firm founded a hundred years ago and they still run it the same way.
Cons
HR is a travesty - they hire promote from within their cliques to cover up their inability and unwillingness to do anything different. They REALLY don’t want your suggestions and you pay the price for offering any because they are so insecure and passive aggressive. They think being “hands-off” is a good thing?? Attorneys and managers are MIA when it comes to answering questions. Benefits are the worst in the industry & the benefits department is too busy to answer a question, they are rude and suck up to the senior attorneys. They talk a good game about being a big firm with resources, but if you are outside of the Cincinnati office, you are on the dark side of the moon.

Pros
The office building is nice. Depending on the department coworkers are mostly pleasant.
Cons
Salaries are very low for the industry and promotions are based more on favoritism than seniority or experience. Some attorneys are good to work with but others can be very rude or condescending.

Pros
-Great people -Lots of responsibility for young attorneys -Low hours requirement for a law firm
Cons
-Lateral attorneys get very little support -Review process not very transparent -Low compensation compared to peer firms

Pros
Interesting cases and a couple attorneys of the human type, as well as a nice office. Some of the attorneys are very, very good. Nothing else good to say.
Cons
The firm expects your blood and your life. They do not want to pay overtime yet refused to modify workloads. A certain few attorneys and a similar number of support staff call all the shots at the local office. There is no parity. It's the "preferred" group who run the place.

Nice place to work and get training, but expectations on availability are unrealistically high.

Hard-working, experienced attorneys. Good training for new attorneys. Good salary.
Cons
Not willing to work out flexible work arrangements. Expect attorneys to be available around the clock. Terrible bonus structure.

Pros
Plenty of work Mostly friendly staff and some attorneys
Cons
Growing too fast for its own good Huge separation of attorneys and non-attorney staff Raises are based on what other firms do, not on employee performance - low raises Insurance used to be good, but no longer and cost is out of reach for families Employee work ratio is not even No flex time (except for the favored few)
