    Pros

The diocese is getting better at listening to what we are interested in for PD and providing resources.

    Cons

The pay scale is significantly lower in comparison to neighboring dioceses and class sizes can potentially be higher than 35 students, depending on the grade.

    Discriminatory

    Business Outlook

    Pros

    Met a few nice people

    Cons

Discriminatory, dysfunctional, inefficient, unethical, mismanaged and resistant to change. The diocese tends to hire friends, family and temps who lack the experience needed for the particular position. As a result, nothing gets done and money is spent bringing in consultants. For a non-profit that is supported by Catholics, it is a crime to witness so much waste and inefficiency.

    High turn over stay away

May 1, 2018 - Anonymous Contractor in Oakley, CA

    Business Outlook

    Pros

People who work there are nice and friendly. It is a nice an quite work environment where you are able to get work done while being on the job. You are always fed, because there is usually food around. Co workers are nice, but there are couple of bad eggs. There are internal drama while working there.

    Cons

The CFO, has no clear understanding of what it takes to run this type of operation. Having a high turn over results to management needing more time to train employees. In result, they would have an unskilled employee for couple of months. By the time management finish training them, the employee would have to leave. There is a strong resistant to trying new things. The system that they the diocese run is date. They need to be caught up with modern systems and application. They haven't used the accountant software in over years. There is a strong push back from the CFO with doing things more efficiently and improving the system because it either requires more training or money for new software. The operation could easily improve drastically from a modern approach.
