      Pros

Good pay and good benefits. Summer and Christmas bonuses are great.

      Cons

A lot of power trip from management. Extremely sales based once you get up there. If you aren't doing great in sales, you are a black sheep and will be miserable with very repetitive days and judgement.

You'll have to work, but the pay reflects it

      Nov 19, 2019 - Tire Technician

      Pros

Good pay, Great management (regional management may vary), Clear promotional ladder with paid training, Close company culture, Seasonal bonuses, Inviting coworkers.

      Cons

Cons are largely based on where and what Discount Tire you work at. For anyone working in a state with snow fall you will experience a "winter rush" of business which is honestly a living hell for techs, as you'll be running up and down the bays for your whole shift trying to keep up with the traffic, but you will see a seasonal bonus to reflect that hell. You'll also, as a tech, be covered in soot after every shift, so be prepared. Though beyond busy seasonal hours and dirty clothes, your local management makes or breaks the job. I personally started with a ill-fitted store manager but corporate was soon to remedy the situation and I left the company working for a manager with who I still keep in touch with today. For someone new, while maybe frowned upon, it may be smart to apply to multiple Discount Tires in your area so you can meet with management and save yourself from working for "that" manager.
