    Pros

Very good comp, benefits, work / life balance. I would highly recommend to anyone interested in having a career in banking .

    Cons

Wonderful company, management and teams. Facilities are great and there is nothing one would want while working at any of the various locations across the US.

I worked at Discover full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great work environment, good work-life balance, incredible benefits including retirement plans, insurance, tuition reimbursement and on site food and fitness facilities

    Cons

Certain entry level positions will lead upwards for a few positions but then there will no longer be any opportunities for advancement without formal education. This wouldn't be a problem except that the work being performed in some instances is worth much more than the pay being given.

I have been working at Discover full-time

    Pros

    - Management cares about your development
    - Amazing work/life balance - great PTO package & generally reasonable workloads
    - Values (doing the right thing, enthusiasm, respect) are wholeheartedly supported - people that work there are friendly and usually very helpful to one another
    - Movement within the company can happen, even if you don't have direct experience in the specific role

    Cons

    - The size of the company makes it easy for work to get siloed
    - If you live in downtown Chicago, the commute to HQ can be taxing; however, there is a downtown office and work from home option provides flexibility
    - The conservative nature of the company provides clear benefits, but can stifle true innovation that requires risk-taking

    I worked at Discover full-time

    Pros

Benefits start day one for flex and full time. Variety of shifts and postings available

    Cons

You could easily overdo it, if you're a perfectionist like me.

I have been working at Discover full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Moving toward continuous improvement mindset, necessary to compete. Huge transition in time I've been here.

    Cons

Pay is sub-standard, but overall benefits package is solid. Work/Life balance is good for families which makes up for pay discrepancy.

    Advice to Management

Keep the course, but those that don't seek to adapt to the new strategic goals of the company might not have a place here and that's okay.
