I have been working at Discovery Clothing full-time

    Pros

I do like the fact that employees get a discount.

    Cons

The pay is sometimes not worth it, especially if you have been there for awhile. Also there are little to no affordable benefits while still trying to make a living.

    Advice to Management

Let employees take part in some of the promotions you have.

I worked at Discovery Clothing part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Interview process was simple and the job is fairly easy.

    Cons

Pay is not worth the work employees provide. Not much growth within company and you are required to wear the stores clothing.Instead of having a day off you are put on call which makes it impossible to plan your day.

    Advice to Management

Management should not pick favorites and rules should not change every week.Because employees, including managers are fairly young there is a lot of drama.

    Pros

stealing is at a minimum since their is no fitting rooms, cute clothes to look at, not a huge store

    Cons

Can't use phone at all not even for emergencies, phone can't even be on you or in pocket, short breaks to be on feet for more than 8 hours, rude managers, can't wear brand name clothes either has to be non-brand or their brand, leaves two hours after store closes.

    Advice to Management

Do better and pay more, I guess your check goes based off their clothing prices.. cheap

I worked at Discovery Clothing full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The employees you work with definitely make the experience fun.

    Cons

Once you become a manager the pay definitely does not match the work. They want you to complete so many task yet they cut back on the staff. I quit when they made me choose between work and school. They told me they werent going to be able to work with my school schedule because it wasnt fair to the other managers that I have a set schedule and they dont yet I was the only manager in school. Funny thing was that they had a program (which I forgot the name) that they would raise money in their stores to help students with tuition, school supplies etc. But they didnt support their employees in school.

    Advice to Management

Be generous with you pay. You run your business like a chinese factory. The ones doing all the work in the stores and dealing with majority of the conflict are the ones getting paid less while the ones that go to the stores demanding things get paid more. And support your employees who are trying to make something with themselves.
