Amazing people and experience, poor pay and opportunities

    Pros

Cast members are some of the most amazing people in the world. It takes a very special person to create the magic of Disney. Many of my former coworkers are still my very good friends. The company offers nice perks in the form of discounts and theme park admission. Orlando is a growing city and there is a lot of diversity and a lot of interesting things to see and do in the area. There are a lot of internal education and career development opportunities if you can spare the time to take advantage of them. They allow some cast members to be "cross-utilized" in a secondary role which can be a great way to gain different experiences and meet new people. For example, I worked attractions but was also able to facilitate for the Youth Education Series on some days. They are pretty good at cast recognition and celebrate good work. The expectations are clear and they know how to ingrain them in you from the start with the Traditions class that teaches about the company's history and values.

    Cons

Management can be hit or miss. It's a HUGE company so often when dealing with any work related issues there are a lot of hoops to jump through and red tape. Pay is not great and there is a ton of competition for the higher paid roles in the company or moving up. It can be very difficult to stand out in the crowd, especially if you're only part time.

I loved the Disney employment experience

    Pros

The best thing about working for Disney is having access to see how your work directly impacts others. You have the opportunity to see all of these children smiling and families make memories they will look back on forever.

    Cons

If you are not motivated by the excitement Disney offers guests, you will not like working at Disney. It is a lot of work to make the Parks magical and if you are not committed to going that extra mile because you want to be a part of the magic then do not work for this company.

Difficult with little return on the investment

    Pros

Company Reputation, A Product that sells itself, Magic

    Cons

Relentless. Takes more than a decade to be senior enough for a reasonable schedule. FEW Advancement Opportunities. Endless and constant complaints from staff and patrons. Company does not have the resources to deliver on the promises made to guests. This places mid-level managers in an impossible situation every day.
