I worked at Diversified Family Services part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

A goog company to work for. There are a few extra things to get counciled for disciplined for than what you have at other jobs. CareTaking is difficult at times and you need to have the rules and laws internalized so you handle these difficult moments well. The pay is good for the work that you do. The management is pleasent and friendly.

    Cons

The company seems to be partly dependent on government subsity or grants.

    Advice to Management

Go full free-market with no government help.

I have been working at Diversified Family Services part-time

    Pros

There are plenty of hours available to work additional hours or overtime if you desire to do so.

    Cons

The company does not pay enough for the type of work and situations that the employee is subjected to, on sometimes a daily basis.

    Advice to Management

I would tell management to respect their employees because without them they would not have a business and treat the accordingly.

I have been working at Diversified Family Services full-time for less than a year

    Pros

They pay good compared to a lot of companies and there is always an opportunity to work extra shifts.

    Cons

Some of the people you work with can be petty, the scheduling can sometimes be unorganized.

    Advice to Management

To work with the client's hands on at least once to see what it's like.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Diversified Family Services full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Can be rewarding if you like working with developmentally disabled teens and adults.

    Cons

Some clients can be violent; supervisory staff doesn't always have experience at dealing with clients first hand. Communications can be a struggle as some clients have several case workers.

    Advice to Management

Streamline communications and make sure everyone assigned to a client knows as much as possible about that client's personality, work, etc.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Diversified Family Services full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The traing, the individuals you worked with. You built bonds with your clients. Money was great! Unlimited over time. And holiday pay too. Some company car usage which was pretty decent. And gas milage is played to you of you keep a travel log in your own car

    Cons

If you work well with one individual. And the person is hard to keep staff for they will not let you bid out of the position. I once was wrote up and I had medical excuses, they will "mandate" you to work double and some partial triple. So its kinda like saying hey I know you small children at home but your not leaving work at all

    Advice to Management

Lol my advice to management though I heard there's been quite the turn around. ANSWER THE FREAKING ON CALL PHONE!!! THATS UR JOB. stop implempting rules boss lady if you yourself was sleeping each and every night shift. And 1 last thing "PEOPLE FIRST". more like money first then the people. Oh and maybe start watching drug tests too lol and you can't figure out your turn over rate
