    Pros

Competitive pay and benefits for salaried individuals but not so great for hourly. Challenging, fast-paced, relentless work environment with unlimited opportunities to work 24 hours a day.

    Cons

Unreasonable expectations regarding dedication and involvement. Poor review of employees across all levels of the facility. Extremely flat management structure. No job descriptions.

I worked at Diversified Machine full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I learned a lot of skills such as assembling different parts of motors for GM, Ford Motor Company, and Cummings. I learned to do final inspections and quality control to detect any defect in the parts before being shipped.

    Cons

The company I worked for closed down because the Auto Industry declined demand of parts. In addition, it was very demanding and a very hard work.

    Advice to Management

One of the reasons the company went out of business was cutting workers off and tried to make the same production, this action lead to making defected parts and the cancelation of contracts.

these ended with the acquisition in December 2011

    Cons

Platinum Equity, nor the new key executive hires, do not understand how to interface with customers or employees.

    Advice to Management

    Sell to someone more competent
update - Bruce Swift is no longer the CEO, the current CEO is Bob Remenar who came from Nexteer.
update 2 - DMI merged with SMW to form Chassix

    Pros

It pays the the bills and puts food on the table.

    Cons

Very little recognition for a job well done. Very little english spoken by most of its employees.

    Advice to Management

Learn some communication and people skills. Offer some english classes for your employees.

    Pros

The pay is ok. If you like overtime you would love this place. If your job is your life than DMI will eat you up.

    Cons

When buisness is slow the last place they cut back is the extra levels of managment.
Now that things are busy again, we have two times the work as back in 08' and they expect to keep it going with half the support as we had then. The maintenance and setup guys never get a day off and can't even come close to being able to leave each day with the satisfaction that they got their job done. Typical greedy company running the machines into the ground and not wanting to spend an extra nickel to prevent problems down the road. The turnover is rediculous! We waste so much time and effort in training new temporary employees for them to crash machines and ship bad parts to the customers.

    Advice to Management

You may make alot of money the way things are being ran in the short term but you need to remember what your biggest investment is.............Your people! Attitude reflects leadership!
