I have been working at Dixon Valve full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Lots of innovation and great ideas. Opportunities for people to move up who are willing to work hard and be responsible. Best opportunities exist for those who enjoy taking care of customers and are willing to continuously improve.

    Cons

Some employees are negative. Management needs to work at getting rid of the negative attitudes.

I worked at Dixon Valve full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers were great and we usually got along

    Cons

Not allowed to ask about pay or when I would get hired as a temp. Both were grounds for terminating. Low pay and couldn't even talk to others about what to expect.

    Advice to Management

Open lines of communication and don't treat people like kids. Pay more for good workers.

    Pros

    Excellent Benefits
Established company with decent job security
Great place to learn your job then move on to better opportunities

    Cons

Little to no training provided to employees.
Employee's are underpaid and overworked to the point of injury.
No opportunity for advancement, company hires from outside to fill positions.
Management solicits input from employees then promptly ignores it.
    No consequences for not performing.
Certain employees being protected by middle management.
    Double standard between shifts.

    Advice to Management

Need a complete restructure of the division from the top down with fresh faces in management who are not corrupted by the current working atmosphere.

I have been working at Dixon Valve full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Hours are great, as there are two shifts. If you are lucky enough to get on with Dixon Quick Coupling they offer great quarterly bonuses.

    Cons

Upper management lacks. Lots of favoritism. Receptionist in North Carolina is beyond rude and very unprofessional.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, we see what you do not.

    Pros

Excellent company benefits and bonus program. Management is caring and always available to talk to from CEO down. They are interested in what their employees think and live by the company values. I have been given many opportunities to advance my career.

    Cons

    Continue training on company products.

    Advice to Management

Continue to promote people from within the company.

I worked at Dixon Valve full-time

    Pros

Lots of benefits. Management knows everyone. It's a busy company. Many locations with niche products and services. Checks don't bounce.

    Cons

Low pay. No room for advancement. Political games at the lowest levels. Cheap facilities. Top management has an ear out for the slightest complaint or discontent, and will punish at the drop off a hat. Lots of snitches.

    Advice to Management

Don't take other people's ideas and claim they are your own original ones. Hire middle managers that will actually do the work and set an example. Expound values that are real not just for show.

I have been working at Dixon Valve full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The Company itself has great benefits.

    Cons

Management in this location will TELL you what you are, for example, "rude" "disrespectful" and "need of an attitude adjustment." Management will scowl at you, point at you, then say "let me holla at you for a sec," to all employees in this location. We are called over from across the room by "Ayy" "HEY!" or "wwwwooo!" We are told in weekly meetings that "money isn't a motivator" but and i quote from management "I needs my bread" We are treated as if we are children and disrespected but are supposed to give respect back and have to be professional. We are not spoken to in a professional way; for example..a professional way in my opinion would be, called into the office and the issue at hand would be discussed and all parties involved are heard, but instead we are called over with "ayy, come speak to me," and "whats up?" This location has lost many employees since ive worked here, and mainly due to supervisor (at the time) to manager for the way we are treated. One employee was even told to not speak of GOD/religion during work..

    Advice to Management

Needs to learn how to professionally speak to employees. Speak properly. Not pick on employees for a month span then move on to the next one. Needs to improve EXTREMELY.
