I worked at Doctors Express full-time

    Pros

None. Management is awful and you don't get lunch

    Cons

No lunch. They get rid of the employees that know what they are doing and care about patient care so they don't have to pay them and hire people who only care about a paycheck at the end of the week. The manager doesn't know how to manager her staff; just wants everyone to like her so staff gets away with murder.

    Advice to Management

Hire someone who knows how to manage and employees who knw what they are doing and care about the patients

I worked at Doctors Express full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

12 hour shifts, reasonable starting pay, break room is nice, downtown is allowed to be a break and not a fight to look busy.

    Cons

Owner/manager knows nothing of the medical field. Office has constantly changing protocols or no protocols. No infection control for contagious issues, patients are ushered into room occupied by contagious patients minutes after use for decreased patient in/out times. Co workers gossip to the manager to aid in his decision making.

    Advice to Management

Be at your business. Learn it. Gossip is not the proper way to learn what goes on at your office while you're gone.

I have been working at Doctors Express full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Coworkers are cool. Free benefits.

    Cons

Managers don't stock clinics and dictate any time off for training, meetings, and being on call. Not cool after working 12+ hour shifts.
Culture and values good, but hypocritical with current management.
Work/life balance should be negative stars.

    Advice to Management

Employees know when you care more about the numbers than the people who produce it for you. You can have all the employee appreciation parties you want, it still doesn't make up for the lack of consideration and respect you have for "your people."

I worked at Doctors Express full-time

    Pros

If you work with a good owner and/or center admin, you'll have a great experience. Work with you to get the hours you want, and depending on the center, some may allow you to be seen for free, which is SO valuable.

    Cons

If upper management is sloppy, issues can arise. The main corporate company, AFC, is highly focused on growth, without spending enough time on the franchise/owner level. Need to practice what they preach.

    Advice to Management

RESEARCH before you buy. Understand that it will be FULL TIME, not just a hands off experience. If you dive head first into your center and focus on making it truly successful from the ground up, you'll do well.

I have been working at Doctors Express full-time

    Pros

There are a lot of cool people I get to work with but sadly they leave because of the cons.

    Cons

bad management, lots of favoritism, job security too- they hired someone to come clean up the HR department and as soon as things started getting good here in clairemont they got rid of him.

    Advice to Management

Keep and promote your good employees, there's too much favoritism here that's why people leave.

    Pros

Still growing, sometimes customer service was issue.

    Advice to Management

    Treat patients well

    Pros

Strong Leadership Team, Flexible Work Hours

    Cons

Pace can be intense and stressful as patients are walk-ins v scheduled

I worked at Doctors Express full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

An okay place to get your foot in the door after school.

    Cons

Lack of quality healthcare. MAs and care providers are forced to push for time to get people in an out as quickly as possible, which leads to poor quality care. Trainers are inexperienced teenagers and young 20-somethings.
