I have been working at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Nice place to work. 12 hr shifts, 7 days per 2 weeks. Best ICU in the Rio Grande Valley. Excellent co workers.

    Cons

Not very good wages. You don't get paid for spanish medical interpreter. Not very good health, vision and dental insurance.

    Advice to Management

They should consider salary increments considering the economy, since we haven't had increments for 5 or 6 years, or compensate medical interpreters.

I worked at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

As long as you get seen at the hospital, the medical costs are paid for.

    Cons

Depending on the department: Equipment/supplies are not always in stock. Spectra phones are old, broken, and don't always work. High expectations, but depending on department Director, sometimes not appreciated. Pay is low compared to other hospitals. Not enough parking!

    Advice to Management

The small, everyday employees are the ones that work the hardest and care the most. Some Directors and staff are not qualified for their jobs yet they get away with a lot of things that are not right,

I worked at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Most of the staff were friendly, and management was OK. Good benefits.

    Cons

Often understaffed at night. We sometimes had 4 CNAs on the floor during the day, then 2 at night for the same amount of patients. Management said they were always available, but didn't always listen.

    Pros

The benefits are amazing and everyone is very helpful. Not one person gets turned away.

    Cons

Always busy but that is a good thing meaning everyone trust to get their health care at DHR.

I worked at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Nothing great about working here!!!

    Cons

You can be a Certified Nurse Assistant for years and it won't matter your pay will always be at 11 dollars an hour. Certified Nurse Assistants do all the work and nurses, doctors, and patients and patient family members treat them poorly. It is not worth it at all. Patients and family members have to wake up and realize that it is not a hotel it is a hospital where illnesses and death occur. You have to put up with annoying coworkers, coworkers who are always on their cell phones texting and being in other areas except being in the areas they are supposed to be at. You have to put up with annoying patients and their family members. Nurses and hospital staff do not care who you are or what you own everyone is treated the same.

    Advice to Management

Pay the CNAs more because they do a whole lot of work and do more than the nurses. If it weren't for the CNAs nurses wouldn't be able to do their jobs. Glad I don't work there anymore.
