Pros
9/80 schedule is the best perk. Team gels well together and is open to discussions and suggestions (heard that this is not the case in all teams though)

Compensation is not the best but if you find relevant work it is very rewarding. Decisions to go a particular route in research is a little slow.

Micromanagement is rampant. Work culture can be particularly toxic in certain departments. Company policies (particularly those surrounding telecommuting) are horribly antiquated. Pettiness and politics abound.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookNo opinion of CEOI have been working at Dolby full-time for less than a year
Pros
9/80 work week. Nice office. Slow paced and most don’t show up to work. WFH AKA not working today. Good brand.
Cons
Soul crunching. Absolutely ineffective at developing quality software. Everything is farmed out. The core tech has known bugs. No one cares about quality. Over run by lifers. Management is secretive, dishonest and poor planners. Constant reorganization and firing. They are incentivized to prolong problems and purposely hinder the success to prolong projects for mutual leadership job security. A shell of a company with a good brand.

RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at Dolby full-time for more than 8 years
Pros
. Nice work/life balance. As others have said, 9/80 is great schedule . Great consumer facing technology . Bright, insightful colleagues. Some are really tough leaders in their fields . Decent amount of training and learning, if you know where to look for
Cons
. Sometimes too policial . Org structure not optimized for performance. Looks more like people choices drive the org, not the other way around
