I have been working at Dollar Shave Club full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Where to even begin? Ah yes, the people.

Absolutely the best collection of very, very smart and very cool people I've ever worked with. Even with all the growth, it still feels like a small group of friends working hard to accomplish awesome things. From day one, I felt so incredibly welcome by EVERYONE, not just in my squad. And this is, no doubt, due to the efforts of the People Dept. We're encouraged to get to know our co-workers; even those we may never really directly deal with. It's a great idea and a great system - and a great learning opportunity.

The engineering team is top notch. Absolutely. It's amazing how many truly smart and talented people are working under the same roof. We're encouraged - and get great benefits - to learn outside our comfort zone so we can understand every bit of the platform. Which, as an engineer, is so, so great.

Which is really the coolest thing about DSC - we are encouraged to learn and grow in our field - and are given resources to do so.

Sure, there're the rad perks like parties and lunches and outings and a great benefits package and this that and the other - but what I love most is how I really feel inspired to learn more and be a better engineer.

In my nearly 20 years in the business, I can say with little hesitation this is the best job I've ever had.

    Cons

Honestly - none. I look forward to going to work every day.

    Advice to Management

    Keep being AWESOME.

I have been working at Dollar Shave Club full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are a few good eggs.

    Cons

I've never been in a meeting where something I just said WASNT immediately repeated back to me as if I didn't say it. If you are in leadership, and happened to be a woman, you'll be an exception that proves the rule here: men call the shots. If you are working in certain teams or with certain leaders, this place will bully, gaslight, and dehumanize you. Fair warning creative women... this place is one of those places with a bad rep... this place rewards all the wrong behavior. Sexual harassment is also mishandled. In my time here, every other woman I've known from DSC has complained about sexism behind closed doors, seen their careers completely stall or go backwards somehow, and quit in a huff. This place is toxic.

    Advice to Management

    Good luck...

I have been working at Dollar Shave Club full-time

    Pros

There's an opportunity to learn from some smart people here

    Cons

Corporate rules and expectations with startup pains. DSC is in the middle of a very slow transition.

    Advice to Management

Be open and stand by your decisions even if theyre unpopular. So much of the confusion here comes from tiptoeing around sore or confusing subjects.

I have been working at Dollar Shave Club full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I can honestly say that working at Dollar Shave Club has been the best experience in my career thus far. In a short amount of time, I have been able to accomplish multiple initiatives and see my work come to fruition. Things move very quickly here, which keeps every day fresh and exciting. I am given quite a bit of autonomy, which can be challenging at times, but has also allowed me to push myself and grow professionally. It is so great to genuinely feel as though my skill set and career are progressing with each month that passes here.

    Cons

The leadership has shifted quite a bit since I have started here, which has resulted in several changes in business initiatives. This has been a bit frustrating, but things seem to be straightening out, and either way, I am still learning a TON.

I have been working at Dollar Shave Club full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This is probably the best job I have had in my career. The opportunity to add impact is huge and you can set your own destiny. You have to be comfortable working in ambiguity sometimes and if you feel lost you can build your own path.

    Cons

Parking is limited for the number of employees but I heard we're getting valet which will be really nice.
