I have been working at Dollar Tree part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Are very flexible with hours and management is really nice. They seem to value the employees who work hard.

    Cons

Organization is not the best at Dollar Tree. Being understaffed can be a common occurrence.

    Advice to Management

Make sure to have enough staff to have stockers and cashiers every day to keep inventory on the shelves and get rid of boxes in the back room.

I worked at Dollar Tree part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Co-Workers def had their own personalities and enjoyed having fun.
Store management was real easy to talk to.
Customers all have their own stories.

    Cons

Normally in impoverished areas, so sometimes what you see and hear can be upsetting.
Zero chance to make much beyond minimum wage or get a full-time spot, pretty much.

    Advice to Management

Standardized scheduling. Had one manager that would release store schedule in standard two week intervals and another store would release it week-to-week, making it very difficult for folks working multiple jobs.

I have been working at Dollar Tree part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Not hard very easy if you stay busy.
    Usually a small staff
if you work hard you're almost guaranteed a lot of hours

    Cons

    10 minute breaks
no employee benefits (its dollar tree of course not)
    no discount (obviously)
if any of your managers suck in the slightest they will micro manage you.
if you hate constant critiquing and authority do not apply.

I have been working at Dollar Tree part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedules, small stores mean you know all your coworkers, my store manager is awesome.

    Cons

Only part-time hours available unless you're the FT ASM or the SM, pays minimum wage, hires felons but won't give them earned promotions, no merit raises and only $0.10 annual raises regardless of job performances, no insurance available to part-time employees, only receive 1 10 minute break for a 4-5 hour shift.

    Advice to Management

It shouldn't matter if an employee has felonies on their record. If they've earned a promotion (and their store manager agrees), PROMOTE THEM! Allow employees full-time opportunities and give raises based on merit rather than $0.10 annually across the board. If people have no reason to do beyond the bare minimum than the bare minimum is what you're likely to get. Also, you're a multi-billion dollar company. You can afford to pay more than minimum wage.
