I have been working at Dollar Tree full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They pay for health insurance a HUGE benefit.

    Cons

Not enough vacation yime. I worked at a store for 4 years and have been at corporate for a little over a year and still only get 1 week vacation.

    Advice to Management

Look at increasing vacation and hiving leads to employees on how to move up in the company.

I have been working at Dollar Tree full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good place to get manager on your resume because of the high turnover rate.

    Cons

Usually you get a skeleton crew of one cashier unless you work at a big store and even then it'll happen from time to time so expect to work through a few lunches/breaks. Management is constantly juggling the front end, stocking, and whatever else needs to be done. Low bar for employee and customer behavior. Feels like there's no communication/understanding between corporate and DT stores. If you work hard it won't take long to feel too good for this place.

    Advice to Management

Keep your eyes out for something better. Store managers arent treated very well or put in a position to succeed so don't count on a recommendation from above. If it's a situation that's supposed to get better "soon", don't listen unless you have an ulterior motive. Stores will go months without a store manager or proper staffing.

I worked at Dollar Tree full-time

    Pros

Cafeteria and snack bar daily. Work hours 830-5 is great. Co workers were wonderful and very easy to get along with. This may not be the same for all departments

    Cons

Needs more organization. Everyone has a different plan on how to carry out the processes which lead to confusion on how to complete a task.

    Advice to Management

    Work on one accord

I have been working at Dollar Tree full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work is easy enough, the corporate building has a decent cafeteria, there is a coffee bar, the restrooms are clean.

    Cons

Everyone walks around frowning, the people that have worked there longer than a few months talk about how overworked they are, bad communication, lower than average pay, health insurance is the lowest possible type they can give, no work/life balance, no training, no recognition.

    Advice to Management

Make it more of a welcoming environment. Flex hours, work from home, actually provide some training and not just some notes from the previous employee to go by, this will help with the lack of communication and frustration it places on everyone.

    Pros

Company values family and personal life, I never had an issue getting time off for the birth of a child, management is personable, individual managers are always willing to help, onsite cafe with super affordable lunch options.

    Cons

Pay could be better, besides that I enjoy working for this organization. They are currently building a new building so it seems they are going to continue to grow. The application process was very easy as well.

Fun exciting environment. Seasonal changes almost monthly

    Advice to Management

Give more payroll to stores so they can operate efficiently.
