    Pros

Good store for a 16 year old aiming for brand new experience

    Cons

Management team was outright condescending and terrible at training new employees about what their expectations actually were.

    Advice to Management

Communicate clearer and demonstrate specific tasks that you want your employees to do

I worked at Dollar Tree part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great Starter job, Great customers, co-workers feel like family once employee has been there long enough

    Cons

No room for advancement within company, too much stress if stay with company for long time

    Advice to Management

Learn to appreciate your employees more. They are the backbone of the company and when that backbone breaks due to unappreciative management the stores will have problems. If an employee wants to advance the ladder within the company, work with them, not trying to keep them from advancing.

    Pros

401K, bonuses, sick time. You really get to know the community working at these stores as most of the towns people are regulars.

    Cons

They expect a lot of work for little pay. If there is conflict in the store, there is little support and solutions from your superiors.

    Advice to Management

District managers need to support their teams better. Follow up with them.

I have been working at Dollar Tree part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

great people to work with. always something to do. they are flexible with your schedule if you have any other activities or another job.

    Cons

pay is low and the raises are only 10 to 15 cents a year. the dm is new here and doesnt do their job and expects everyone to do theirs with no exeptions. the dm needs to help if a store is struggling and not just say its your problem fix it.

    Advice to Management

management needs to go into the stores and help them and if there is a problem they need to help solve it not just leave it up to the store.

I worked at Dollar Tree part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Easy use of register. Store closes early. Opportunity to grow.

    Cons

LOOng periods of standing up. LAte breaks. Unfair, unrespectful supervisor. Clean bathroom being a cashier. Overall organizing the store for closing.

    Advice to Management

Take in considration all the work a cashier can do. They have to be at the register at the same time face the aisles and fix the store. Put more workers per shift . Hire people to clean, so the cashiers dont have top do all the work ..

    Pros

Its a Job and has Steady work...

    Cons

    The managers show favoritism
Male managers hit on the female workers
It seems like making quota isnt good enough
You can easily get fired if you are new
Some employees are immature and classless and managers find it entertaining
They take advantage of the temp service process
They use the temps for odd jobs with no intent to hire them long term.................I could go on and on.
