Pros
Hours were flexible and could get extra hours as a lot of employees called in.
Cons
Schedule couldn't be relied upon as it was always subject to change due to call ins.

Great Work Environment
Apr 13, 2023 - Sales Associate/Cashier in Houston, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The management was great. They were understanding and kind. Work was very flexible and you were able to work more or less hours depending on what your needs are.
Cons
You may have to do more than just cashier roles like stocking and cleaning the floor. Sometimes you might be 1 of 2 people on the floor so when it is busy and can get a bit overwhelming.

Flexible hours which is nice and it’s easy work.
Cons
Too much work for little pay. Fast turn around.

Are very flexible with hours and management is really nice. They seem to value the employees who work hard.
Cons
Organization is not the best at Dollar Tree. Being understaffed can be a common occurrence.

Pros
This company is very flexible with hours and are so willing to accommodate everyones schedule. This is a great job if it is your first or second job as a teenager.
Cons
I was called 4 times while working at my other job in my first two weeks of working to help cover shifts. There is no proper training, you are thrown right into the fire for the most part. The "break room" consist of a table, microwave, and mini fridge in a crowded back room. There are only ever 2 people working the store at a time. One manager doing things in the back, in the office, or stocking; One associate responsible for checking out customers, helping them find things, clean, and complete things on their personal todo list. A cashier just isn't a cashier they are responsible to multitask on every shift and it becomes quite frustrating to the customers and employees a like. Dollar Tree lacks good customer service because one person cannot blow up balloons, check people out, vacuum, and help a customer who is having trouble finding an item. The store is dirty, because one person cannot clean the entire store while helping customers and as a result must only clean what is dirty. I also do not like the money handling practices at Dollar Tree. The pay is a quarter above minimum wage.

Pros
The best reason to work here is limited and flexible hours.
Cons
They don't pay the employees enough for the amount of work we really do.

The people are awesome, the responsibilities are not too exciting.

- Awesome Managers and Co-workers. - People seem to complaint about customers not being nice.... however, i found that customers were very nice. - Very flexible with working hours (great if you are still in school or if you have many commitments). - The job is extremely easy to grasp.
Cons
- An assistant manager is simply a stocking employee who gets to lead a crew of employees who get paid a little less. - The pay is not what you would expect from a management title. Nonetheless, the pay seems to represent the level of responsibility (which is not much).
