I have been working at Dolphin Corporation full-time

    Pros

You get to work with great people who know what they are doing, without micromanagement, on products that actually work, and for customers who are among the largest in the world.

    Cons

The other side of the same coin: the people know what you are supposed to do (you can't fake it), at times not enough management, and working for very large customers can be intimidating.

    Advice to Management

    make needed changes faster.

I worked at Dolphin Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay is good. There is an opportunity to work with some very large companies and get exposure to some very interesting organizations. Even though you are a consultant, there is not a great deal of travel.

    Cons

You need to be ready with lots of experience with their software when you start. Most of the company works from home, so there are not a great deal of resources to get a new employee ramped up. If you have lots of experience (as in, several years) with the company as a user or administrator you should be good. If not, getting up to speed is an uphill battle. They pretty much throw you in the water and see if you can swim. Everyone is a paid consultant from top to bottom, so no one is dedicated full time to managing resources.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to get new employees up to speed.

I have been working at Dolphin Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work from home, service Fortune 100 companies, part of a growing company with growing solutions, most colleagues are great to work with and very knowledgeable.

    Cons

Lack of structure, constant employee burnout, very poor bonus structure, unfair compensation

    Advice to Management

Value your best employees and do the right thing when it comes to poor performers

I have been working at Dolphin Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great products and services delivery. Focused mainly on US-based companies. Employee owned. Operate with integrity. Excellent client retention.

    Cons

Attempt to place employees into 3 or 4 boxes - especially as it relates to compensation and setting objectives. As the company continues to grow this approach simply won't work. Well-established territory managers have a tremendous advantage when it comes to achieving quota and increasing variable compensation. Its a "rich get richer" scenario. Developing territories are giving the same amount of annual quota and have to fight for access to the pre-sales and consulting resources.

    Advice to Management

Don't be so risk averse. Have more faith in the employees ability to do the job. Don't allow the second tier of the management team to inhibit growth.
