Compensation is quite good - par on par with other long-standing companies even outside of it's discipline
    Hard working
    Fast growing
I am sorry I left this company

    Cons

Needs management training program for managerial positions

    Advice to Management

Ensure that with the fast pace at which the company is growing you can effectively manage the growth for continued great performance and especially it's impact on that of safety performance.

I worked at Dolphin Geophysical (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good salary
    Vacation package really good
    International trips
    Good environment with smart people
Managers have their own office and parking spot in the garage
    Flexible work hours
    A lot of Procedures

    Cons

I know that the Norwegians are doing all that they can to keep as many Norwegians employed and hence they are concentrating on the international offices to cut staff.

Neither CEO nor VPs understand processing and care about their international employees. They hire useless people into processing and keep that headcount up. Singapore cannot process data without the UK flying people out heir all the time and the costs of that are just enormous.

The whole company will be bankrupt soon and so everyone will lose their jobs at the expense of poor management over the last few years and the actions of a few individuals! I feel so sorry for all those left as the mood inside the company is awful right now, from what I am hearing from few people who are still employed.
The USA CEO has conflict of interest between Dolphin and his another company in Brazil. Funny: nobody cares.

    Advice to Management

Time to learn how to do business! Generally a high ego is due to a high self esteem, but once people get tired of the large ego that self esteem can quickly hit rock bottom. Good luck.

OpenCPS takes a while to get used to.
Not enough support for geophysical solutions.

    Pros

Great to have six months off a year, good working relations with work mates and getting to see the world

    Cons

Poor upper management who distanced themselves from the work force and failed to understand the pressures imposed on the workforce and a concern of what can only be called management through fear

    Advice to Management

Irrelevant now as only a Ghost company exists working to help pay of creditors

I worked at Dolphin Geophysical full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

High salary compared to other companies, fantastic private health and dental care, some offshore vessels were of high standard, yearly salary increase by 3.5%

    Cons

Management are awful, try to run offshore operations from onshore, felt very much like management were in a boys club and we were employee number xxxx. Profit was number 1 priority, and anything else was a distant 2nd.

I have been working at Dolphin Geophysical full-time

    Pros

Friendly, knowledgeable company. Good pay and healthcare package with almost half a year of holidays / time off with Worldwide travel opportunities

    Cons

Have to be able to work away for home for over 6 months of the year. Due to reduction in projects/surveys finances are tight and streamlining and redundancies are happening at current time.

I worked at Dolphin Geophysical full-time

    Pros

Good salary and senior management. Provide a good base if you have just graduated. Good opportunities for working offshore is that is what you want to do.

    Cons

Limited training opportunities and they use only one type of software. Job can become very repetitive and their is not much of a career path laid out for you.

    Advice to Management

Clearer career path for new employees and more on the job training. Interaction with management and less top down culture would help everyone feel more involved.
