Overall, this is a great place to work with very supportive co-workers and management. Collaboration is encouraged and the office as a whole takes a lot of pride in their work.
There could be more clarity in the compensation process. Having step level placements makes it difficult to get a salary increase without moving up a step. However, the way the move up a step is not clear and the language is vague. There is so much focus on internal equity (although clergy make up to twice as much as lay employees), that it makes it difficult to get an increase and they probably lose employees as a result.
Advice to Management
Less focus on equity and pay employees according to performance reviews and growth ability
I worked at Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society full-time
Loved being a missionary. Once in a lifetime experience living abroad & serving others.
Missionary stipend is small. Living abroad isn't for everyone.

The Presiding Bishop is incredibly inspiring and you just can't help but be excited when he's around. It really feels like you're doing important work!
