I have been working at Domino Printing full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Good social package
    - Flexible company transfer
    - Benefits
    - Own canteen/parking
    - Close to A14
    - Stable
    - International environment

    Cons

    - Sometimes could be hectic although traditionally very slow and hierarchical decision making
    - Manufacturing behaviour
    - Poor unorganised HR team (only very few are proactive)
    - No proper objectives setting up, no proper one-to-ones and apprisals

    Advice to Management

Cannot really say anything about management, especially senior management.

    Pros

Very relaxed atmosphere - flexible with time. Friendly teams and people are approachable if you need help. Good IT and HR teams.

    Cons

Dated offices that are extremely cramped and only getting worse. Not much career progression and difficult to know what you could aim for next. No set grades.

I worked at Domino Printing full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Some advancement opportunities.
More of a "Career for life" kind of company if that appeals to you, you could also be stuck though if you wanted to leave at some point.
Good starting package but most likely what you'll stay with. Salary reviews not very generous.
    Generally helpful colleagues

    Cons

-Extremely undermanned team having a unreasonable amount of duties and workload. That leads to a number of problems that make the job intolerable.
-Workload is ever increasing as company keeps hiring salesmen constantly. Support team has stayed exactly the same (if not smaller) thus getting more and more workload daily.
-Company processes make no sense and some are so complicated even experienced members struggle with them. Very hard to enjoy your daily job.
-Calls come constantly back to back making it extremely difficult to catch a breather, problem solve and learn something in the process.
-Time micromanagement gets to a point where it will get noticed if you take a 2 minute bathroom break. When on lunch you'll have to keep a constant eye on the clock so as to be back on time.
-Process extremely slow. The most minor change can take a very long time to happen bringing frustration at a peak.
-HR seems to be lacking an understanding of a balance between employee and business interests. Next business interests employee interests are swept away.

    Advice to Management

Be more clear at the interview stage about what the job is like. Don't look to save the slightest penny. When you allow such a policy to affect your employee salaries you operate a high risk low return policy as increasing a salary slightly is nothing compared to the cost of an employee leaving.
Hire enough people so that they're not glued to the phone with back to back calls all day and end up resenting their jobs, promote an option of breaking up the work day instead of sitting stuck in the cubicle.

I worked at Domino Printing full-time

    Pros

Great business and many able staff makes it an exciting place to work - good atmosphere and great canteen make it very pleasant environment.

    Cons

Business tens to grow and contract cyclically so tends to over recruit and then have redundancy/ reorg every 4-6 yrs

    Advice to Management

Listen to your engineers - it is not just about the bottom line. Hire and fire alternated with nurture and develop approach can leave people a bit cynical of upper management

I have been working at Domino Printing full-time

    Pros

Fast growing company taking many accounts away from competitors. Great work environment. Team built, team players. No politics! Free to implement / input your ideas with no backlash from above. Lots of cross functional support. All hands approach. Easy new employee integration. Strong work life balance compared to other companies. The company has been a "Illinois top 100 best places to work for" now for the last 4 years. High tenure with nice mix of new talent. Highly promotable from within based on talent not time. If you are good, you will have oppotunities open for you very quickly. Awesome vacation and time off, excellent benefits with very low monthly cost. Good compensation. Now owned by Brother inc, 8 billion dollar company, Brother has committed to be "hands off" to Domino (and they have been), and Domino is now one of their premier companies. Heavy investment into Domino enabling strong R&D, increased headcount, and increased threat to competition. This company still values customer relationships far more than its competitors. The culture is fair, open, helpful, honest, blameless environment. Leadership solidifies and lives the "work life balance" by not expecting or even pushing working late nights, weekends, holidays and vacation. Turn off that phone and email! Go get renergized! Rare in today's society in the US.

    Cons

Still some growing pains once in awhile. Sometimes too much "everyone must agree, need slightly more "chain of command " style leadership / accountability throughout the organization. Most do well, some arent leaders.....but company is investing in training and helping change personnel vs. quick termination.

    Advice to Management

Maintain the culture! Work life balance is truely a benefit. Under current senior management, lots of great improvements and guidance. Great teamwork. Stay the course, dont change. Salaries are good, but room for improvement to be the best.
