    Pros

Donaldson is where you will have many 30-40 year veterans and other long tenured engineers and managers. The people that you can learn from and collaborate with no matter your status. Work-Life balance or co-linearity make this a fine place to set up stakes for a while and advance your career and build a family at the same time.

    Cons

Somewhat longer timelines for many platforms

I have been working at Donaldson Company full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good benefits, flexible with work / life balance.

    Cons

Management is not the best. Very clicky and gossipy. Mangers are friends with their employees on social media and hang out outside of work. This makes other employees in the group very uncomfortable and there is inside conversation of favoritism. Have to work 12 years to get another year of vacation added.

I have been working at Donaldson Company

    Pros

Many non-management employees are friendly, down-to-earth, intelligent, hard-working people. The work-life balance atmosphere is very good.

    Cons

Respect for confidential, sensitive information and issues is lacking, including by HR personnel. The company is incredibly top-heavy. Ethics are deteriorating as well as the business overall, yet management keeps rewarding themselves verbally and financially, and messaging integrity that is not enforced. Many hard-working employees are underpaid and undervalued. Oddly, those who choose to spend the majority of their work day socializing (within the organization as well as social media), networking and organizing events, coffee breaks, and happy hours are rewarded and recognized. Managers consistently do not get the input of their direct reports; instead, they underestimate the intelligence of their staff and micromanage rather than encouraging decision-making, taking risks and growth.

I have been working at Donaldson Company full-time

    Pros

Down to earth folks for the most part. Individual managers can be a plus. I have good work life balance.

    Cons

Lack of vision at the top. It is hard to see the strategy they want. Cost cutting, cheap mentality. Terrible benefits. Bad health insurance, and even the employee stock purchase plan is non-existent as you don't even get a discount on stock purchases.

I have been working at Donaldson Company full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The people are great managers vary like any company but most are good and there is very little value in your title. I talk to VP or directors just like the floor and shop workers and have never seen much pulling the title card to take over a conversation or end ideas. Good work life balance - not a ton of extra hours and family issues are considered by management.

    Cons

Can be very slow to adapt new technology. Doesn't commit enough resources to IT

I have been working at Donaldson Company

    Pros

Donaldson offers excellent benefits, good work-life balance and claims to have 19 consecutive years of double digit earnings growth. The company fills a unique business niche in the filtration market and enjoys good margins on a majority if it's filtration products.

    Cons

As an technician in the 600,000 square foot North American Distribution center I would say that the facility needs to be unionized. The management of the distribution center is bullish, rules with an iron fist and they have fired or let go of more people in the last two years that work there now. Long term planning is mostly performed from corporate in Minneapolis. To sum up the corporate management; they were having forklifts and material handling equipment assembled at one end of the building while breaking them down and shipping them out at the other end of the building during the implementation. Before the implementation of WMS the DC was shipping approximately 90 trucks per day and during it came to a dead stop for two weeks because they called the shots and the shots were "that things should work themselves out".
