I have been working at Dooney & Bourke part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great atmosphere, everyone is friendly, and flexible schedules, but mostly you're treated like family and it is nice to have. Dress code is pretty nice and can be really comfortable. I worked at the largest Dooney outlet in the US in Orlando FL and I loved the size of the store, you didn't feel crowded and had your space to move around to make sales.

    Cons

Bad apples sometimes, sales people taking sales from others which affects our individual sales total.

    Advice to Management

Maybe have a floor manager who would be in charge of the store's appearance (restock and communication between employees via head sets), but I love the potlucks and just the joy when you walk into your shift!

I worked at Dooney & Bourke (More than a year)

    Pros

    -Great store to work with
    -Amazing discount
    -Nice management

    Cons

    -No commision
    -Short breaks
-Sometimes slow. No a lot of people come into the store
    -Some favoritism
    - A lot of gossip
-I ended up getting less hours out of nowhere

    Advice to Management

Make sure everyone is treated fairly. Sometimes people that have been there longer, or if they like someone more they are more understanding with them. Stop with the gossip, it's unprofessional to talk bad about employees to other employees.

  10. "Overall a good company to work for. They are behind the times in a lot of their processes. There is a lot of gray area."

I have been working at Dooney & Bourke full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Privately owned and operated, great employee discount, relaxed, laid back atmosphere. Full time employees have paid vacation, paid holidays, and sick time.

    Cons

No raises, everyone in corporate is related, compensation at the associate level leaves a lot to be desired, not up to par with some of the other companies, work-life balance is what you would expect working retail.

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to make suggestions. Management should stop being afraid to address the issues that are holding the company back.
