I worked at Doosan Babcock full-time

    Pros

There was a significant amount of international experience

    Cons

They really don't know what they're doing. Most of their projects tend to be over budget, past schedule, and poorly designed. Very poorly managed from the UK and Korea

    Advice to Management

You can't use the European or the Asian model to be a success in the US. You have to be able to play in the tall grass if you plan to survive over here. You need to have your engineering done in the US; not the UK.

I worked at Doosan Babcock full-time

    Pros

Diverse work, Good and helpful people around

    Cons

Not able to execute any project , hence loss in most of the projects. All other points are linked to it like huge redundancies every year, no salary increment, no career progression. All these may change if they start making profits. Projects are poorly engineered.

I have been working at Doosan Babcock full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people generally. Excellent traing and development. Diverse contract content.

    Cons

Overly burdensome parent company systems and reporting.

    Advice to Management

Learn to say no and remove non-value adding work. The world is not centred on Renfrew and Crawley

    Pros

The money is good if willing to do.huge amounts of overtime

    Cons

The company does not know how to treat loyal people never put a foot wrong and made to feel punished during redundancy process. Had redundancy forced upon me even though there are other areas of the business to work in. Wouldn't recommend my worst enemy work the department I'm leaving!! More directors than you can count and what's the point in a CEO does nothing.

    Advice to Management

Communication with employees would be a good start and then learn how to treat people. When taking on redundancy process try to be as fair as possible and not mess with people's lives.
