I worked at Dorfman Pacific full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Most co-workers were great to work with. Had terrific supervisor. Loved the work.

    Cons

Several years with no raises even though outstanding reviews. Raises given based on how much employees complained to dept head. Steady, dependable employees not acknowledged or compensated appropriately. No set pay scale. Raises given on whim of CFO. Company morale was low in most depts. Too many levels of management in most depts. HR reports to CFO resulting in perception of inapproachability. Job openings usually weren't known internally until already filled.

    Advice to Management

All employees in all depts. need to be treated fairly and equally. Upper management shouldn't play favoritism. Dept heads should work to have cohesive depts. not divisive. HR should report to CEO only.

I have been working at Dorfman Pacific full-time

    Pros

Vacation time, Sick time, 401K match most of the time.

    Cons

Some of the management acts like they are in high school. Sometime feel like they don't appropriate hard work or procedures implemented.

I worked at Dorfman Pacific (Less than a year)

    Pros

Large inventory, and some good licenses.

    Cons

Very cutthroat environment. Management is all competing with lower levels for the owner's
attention. Very unforthcoming with help or information on how to do the job.

I worked at Dorfman Pacific full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent health coverage if you can make it past the probation period.

    Cons

Extremely low salaries, little opportunity for growth, blatant disregard for laws and codes, different treatment depending on employee. Overall this is not a cheerful place to work.

    Advice to Management

Stop making employees feel as though they should be thankful for their job and make them feel you are thankful for them.

I worked at Dorfman Pacific full-time

    Pros

Always quality products that are easy to represent. Much pride is held in knowing you work for a respected company with high quality brands. Great employee discount.

    Cons

Upper management heavy...many VP's. If you are well liked, things are great. If not, things are made difficult.

    Advice to Management

    Remember the Golden Rule.

I worked at Dorfman Pacific as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay was alright for here.

    Cons

Freelanced for 6 months when they need help, not going back. The manager doesn't care about the workers. Unnecessary stress, always changed deadlines, more emotional than professional. Made the pressure worse than it had to be. Everyone was unhappy in there.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your workers, really when lots of them complain about one manager. It could be a lot better.
