    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Dorling Kindersley Limited full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great location
    Good canteen
    Nice working space
    Generally friendly people

    Cons

Too much hierarchy. Little opportunities for growth and development. Junior people are not listened to and can’t even speak up at meetings. Managers aren’t invested in your development. You need to leave in order to get a promotion.

    Advice to Management

I doubt they would look at this website but it would be great if they could make employees feel more valued other than completely disposable.

I have been working at Dorling Kindersley Limited full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Interesting work and every day differs
Staff are very friendly, happy to help and very passionate about their work
Supportive of work life balance, offering flexible working for parents, summer hours for all staff etc.
Good benefits package and pension plan

    Cons

As seen across the publishing industry, there is poor progression and salaries for junior staff. Promotion only tends to happen when someone leaves, not based on merit.
Often very fast paced and some teams appear overstretched
