I worked at Dot Foods full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Pay is good , employee benefits

    Cons

Very Stressful and hard work......a lot of drama , disrespectful ,People are leaving left and right. Forced dispatch make you work on your day off and if you refuse you get discipline . This place is a modern slavery. Racist work environment .

    Advice to Management

Stop the Drama ! And promote diversity among upper management.

I worked at Dot Foods part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great pay even for a part timer Medical benefits for PT Good exercise Learn 3 different types of forklifts Company events Many of the people in the warehouse were good, hard workers, little drama

    Cons

Very physically demanding, towards the end of the 3 years i was there i had terrible wrist and shoulder pain Tasks aren't rotated as often as they should by supervisors (ie if they have you doing a certain mundane task regularly, you will likely always do it) Constantly moving from frozen to dry, or cold to dry can be hard on the body Limited advancement room

    Advice to Management

Take the health of your workers seriously Rotate workers more (cross train people)

I worked at Dot Foods part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Company puts a lot of effort and money in making sure their employees are well compensated and comfortable on and off the job, not just through safety but through opportunities that they give to all employees and resources that are also available to all

    Cons

Although the training is helpful and detailed there is still a feeling of being rushed to get up to par with everyone else. If you aren't quick learner this may not be the place for you.

    Advice to Management

I have no advise on improving their management. They have outstanding infrastructure and give an exceptional amount of effort into safety information in such a dangerous work environment

    Pros

Great pay and benefit's, excellent driver trainers, equipment and mechanics, always got work ,and very little down time. Always room for advancement in other jobs in company

not much home time, hard work unloading and breakdown of product and company policies strict and non forgiving

change needed in termination policy, more home time , same products need not be separated as much through out trailer. Need to focus more on driver quality like no accidents, tickets, being on time, never calling in before terminated ,

I worked at Dot Foods full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good money, give you gifts and party events are fun. Equipment is good, if you enjoy being anti-social the truck drivers a good job they don't talk too you unless something's wrong.

    Cons

Your rarely home. You will be dis batched too do a full days work then almost make it home. Then due out again before your 10 hours is up. So you will run behind again, dispatchers don't care if you make it home or not. Can't deny the load cause forced disbatching. Sucks going too warehouses cause they don't care about your time and you don't get paid for sitting unless 2 hours go by from the appointment time. If...

    Advice to Management

Treat your drivers more than just a number and actually like humans. Fix your disbatching make it so a driver can make it home too his family.

I have been working at Dot Foods full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great money to start and benefits are good as well. The work is hard but many opportunities to get monthly and quarterly bonuses.

    Cons

Hometime is minimal. Weekends are mandatory and your first year with the company you are expected to be on call just about anytime your home. Turnover rate, I would assume is very high but thats just from what ive seen, dont know if this is true.
