    Pros

Pride of people on their heritage and product. Intrinsic belief that their product is really good.

    Cons

Ownership has changed quite a bit. Connection of top management and employees has deteriorated. Culture at HQ has changed from warm and excited to somewhat cold and uninterested.

    Advice to Management

Show real interest in your people. They make things work. Nothing else.

I worked at Douwe Egberts full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice morning coffee made by friendly barristers, who make your day brighter. In case you are a parent flexible work hours.

    Cons

At the HQ work can be a dark place. Culture of fear that transforms into a lot of unnecessary pressure. Middle managers work by delegating and if something does not go well they are ready to point a finger. The clash between French and Dutch culture is harsh and not in a fun way. Most people age 25-35 leave after 3-4 years with the company. C-level management are truly uncharismatic people and so are upper managers. HQ opportunities for non-Dutch speakers are scarce.

    Advice to Management

No advice really. Not having a charisma is something you don't develop at the age of 45.

I have been working at Douwe Egberts full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Company with the potential to realize a lot as a young potential.

    Cons

    - Too much internal competition between plants i.s.o. collaboration.
    - Too many initiatives to reduce costs i.s.o. innovation to drive growth
    - Few possibilities for promotion.

    Advice to Management

Focus on innovation and improvement to drive organic growth. Only focussing on cost reduction results in negativism.
