    Great hotel brand. The Marriott company provides the great resources for Management team

    Needs a better front office system

    Excellent written standards and guidelines and very good benefits.

    Cons

    Little opportunity for advancement due to no other properties in my area however this was not Dow Hotels issue.

    Pros

    Easy to contact Corporate office staff and reach the right person.
    Need to have entrepreneur attitude in order to succeed.

    Cons

    Very small company with limited support.
    Too many chiefs trying to call the shots.

    Advice to Management

    Stand behind and support the staff. Own up to the neglect from past practices and make the necessary improvements.

    It is employment with a small company.

    Cons

    This Company has a lot to learn about running a Hotel. There is no sincere caring about guests or employees. There is sincerity about the bottom line number. They might as well make wigits rather than being in the Hospitality Industry.

    Advice to Management

    Hire qualified staff. Improve communication and take care of employees that will in turn make guests happy.

    Pros

    Excellent co workers and support staff

    Cons

    No structured training for new management staff. You are on your own to figure things out. Management does not about changing work environment. Favoritism/nepotism all across the board. Unhealthy work space - leaks all over the place

    Advice to Management

    Create positive environment. Take actions to fix issues in concerned areas. Status quo does not change anything.

    Listen to your staff. Take care of your employees, they will take care of your guests. Don't take advantage of them or you will continue to lose your best

    Hilton Brand allows for possibility of transfer

    The management is not effective. Turnover is VERY high. Expectations are unreasonable.

    small local company which gives you the ability to know owners and leadership. If you work hard you will grow and learn the hotel business.

    Cons

    work-life balance is difficult due to long hours so employee retention is difficult to maintain

    Be competitive with compensation and benefits and provide work life balance and consistency within each of your hotels to retain the best in the business.

    Pros

    My co workers are family to me. We all work together and we all have each others best interest. They are what keeps me coming to work everyday.

    Cons

    They do not look out for the benefit of their employees. HR is not trustworthy. HR is more afraid of getting themselves in trouble than actually taking care of their employees. The pay is not up to standard with what other companies are paying. Also, raises less than 25 cents are a SLAP IN THE FACE.

    Advice to Management

    Take care of your employees and they will take care of your guests and you! It is a common trend between all of the hotels under DOW that they are going downhill for the same reasons.
