I worked at Dow Jones full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Actually left the company more than 5 years ago but the earliest possible year in the drop down list is 2015, so indicated as that. Good work life balance. Have the option of working-from-home. Very fun-loving colleagues. Young team with people from different nationalities and language proficiency. A good stepping stone for fresh graduates as the company brand name is well-known.

    Cons

Salary was not competitive then. Pay increment was not good. Lack of career advancement as the hierarchy was flat. Felt that there were lack of training for staff upgrading. Wonder if the situation is still as such.

I worked at Dow Jones full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Work-life balance and flexibility guaranteed for those working on content research (work-from-home policy requires employees to come to office only 2 days a week; encouraged to work in other Dow Jones offices around the world; etc.) - Healthy office culture (no office politics - in the Singapore office at least) - Relatively young and friendly co-workers (many are in 20s and 30s) - Great-looking office with great...

    Cons

    - Pay is not as competitive as other companies (but decent benefits, though) - Opportunities for promotion is quite limited

    Advice to Management

Offer more competitive remuneration to retain good talent.

I have been working at Dow Jones full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Dow Jones has a good brand value. Also it provides excellent work-life balance. The office culture is quite nice as most of the employers are all from different countries, religion and culture.

    Cons

Getting Promotion might get very hard. The job might get monotonous if you stick to a single department.

    Advice to Management

Need more integrated software to update database.

I have been working at Dow Jones full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good brand value - Dow Jones and the Wall Street Journal. No (or very little) office politics Amiable colleagues and good culture Nice working environment Work-life balance is valued and encouraged Good insurance plans

    Cons

Compensation is awful Excessive red tape especially with HR processes and formalities Rigid and inflexible policies

    Advice to Management

Especially to HR senior management, please stop letting the talent go. There were tons of talented employees who left just because of inflexible HR policies and sub par compensation.
