    Long hours and job security.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees more. You discard real talent in your yearly shuffle of employees.

Great products and an inviting atmospheres to work. Pay reflects performance. Management reviews are fair and professional. You have the ability to move around the company based upon your interests

    Cons

There are none that I can think of - good place for any institutional sales person. You get out of this job what you put into it. So you you are not a hard working, do not expect much

    Advice to Management

Hold the people who have been there for years accountable - Do not let managers work remotely. I had a manager that worked remotely and he worked half the time because he was not working in the same city as his manager - BIG Problem

I have been working at Dow Jones full-time

    Pros

Work with some of the best journalists in the business. Very collaborative atmosphere.

Women and people of color are paid less than white men, according to a union analysis. Regular rounds of buyouts and layoffs make for an unstable environment.

    Advice to Management

Fix the gender and race gaps.

I worked at Dow Jones full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits (401k, vacation, healthcare) and great people. The hours were reasonable and I would've had a real work/life balance if not for a long commute.

    Cons

NJ location is a huge turn-off to young talent in bigger cities. That meant that although there were some great people on my team, there was also a lot of mediocrity. Bad management and bad legacy employees.

    Advice to Management

Make it more difficult to become a manager and require more experience. Try to connect more with lower-level employees. More than half my team left in the first year of its creation because of this disconnect.
