I worked at Dr. Newton's Naturals part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good parking, casual dress code, comfortable office setting, reasonable hours. The pay can be ok if you meet the high sales goals on a very consistent basis.

    Cons

Unreasonable sales expectations, rampant favoritism, extremely high turnover, poor support from management, poor training, usually lousy pay. There's really no reason to work here unless you're in between jobs. They bring in a new bunch of recruits every other week, and after 6 months 90% of them are gone. That is no exaggeration.

    Advice to Management

Invest some time and energy into helping people meet the goals. The constant stress about numbers and never ending turnover is neither good for morale or business.

I worked at Dr. Newton's Naturals full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's Maine, so most of the employees are friendly and loyal. Easy commute to Portland. No "clubs" to push on Reps or Customers. Attainable bonuses.

    Cons

Maintaining status quo wins out over innovative ways to introduce new/better revenue streams to a DR model that is in rapid decline. Stagnant culture, no annual reviews or raises....

    Advice to Management

Hire a proven innovator and then leave them alone to innovate... stop making the best of bad situations and start creating better ones.

I worked at Dr. Newton's Naturals full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Very diverse group of employees.
    flexible scheduling.
    very, very casual dress code.
easy access of transportation, and ample parking.
If you need a job in a hurry, this is the place.
    Easy daytime, early evening hours.

    Cons

    Clueless, useless HR department.
have never worked around so many back stabbing coworkers.
    Favoritism is out of control.
Turnover is very , very high
    two faced supervisors.
Training was very helter-skelter, and inconsistant.
phone system/computers are not at all up to date.
family owned dysfunction at its finest.
consider this company only if you need a "job of last resort".

    Advice to Management

Take reponsibility for any of the company's problems. Stop blaming the employees, most of them haven't been around long enough to cause any damage. Get HR and payroll departments up to snuff.

    Pros

Good work, fair pay, and adequate culture; you have the ability to controll a lot of this with your effort and desire. Like most companies the experiecne will be what you make of it "you simply have to decide is this for me and then give it your all if it is". Typical call center setting!

    Cons

One person in a key role that have been there forever make it at time the worst place to work ever!

    Advice to Management

Speak with that person; everyone even people who do not work ther knows who she is!

Current Employee - Sales Representative in South Portland, ME

    Pros

    flexible with scheduling
good earning potential, if you can stick it out and become one of the "chosen".
    casual dress code
They do not make an issue of unemployment compensation after they fire you.
    ample free parking.

    Cons

Favoritism toward certain "chosen" employees is rampant
Management does not care if other employees snag your commissions-see above.
inconsistant pricing offered to customers by different departments make playing fair tough, while the "chosen" ones have huge latitude on discounts to offer to "their" customers.
Lots of cliques. Feels like high school again.
HR and payroll departments incapable of processing promised payroll direct deposit.

    Advice to Management

Listen to some of your employees. Some of them are fairly smart, and they know what they are doing. Invest more time and structure into training,You get what you pay for.
