I have been working at Draper and Kramer full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The corporate office is amazing. I've worked there for almost five years now and it was the best decision I've ever made. I encourage anyone to apply - the managment team on the properties are looking for people who want to work hard and grow with the company. In turn, they will treat you very welll!

    Cons

The company is quite large, so it take time to meet everyone - but once you do, they are so friendly and helpful!

I worked at Draper and Kramer part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company to work for, good holiday schedule, compensation is fair, bonuses based on performance fair and plentiful during the holidays

    Cons

Each site is different, make sure you ask around about your manager before accepting a job. You must stay at your location for a year before the option to transfer and even then it can take a while. So if you want to stay with the company you might have to stick it out at a difficult location for a while. They are also willing to cover licensing expenses/tuition for the right candidates who want to move up within the company. Simple process if you show initiative and potential.

    Advice to Management

Stop leaving Property Managers at properties just because they've been there a long time. When you go through six plus employees in two positions over the course of three years, the manager is the problem! Your corporate office is wonderful though! Great support and knowledgeable employees at the corporate office!

I worked at Draper and Kramer full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

DK has been around for over 100 years and has a proven track record. They have dk interest in some of their properties which is easier than third party management.

    Cons

Positions rarely come available as employees tend to be there for many years so it is very hard to further your career and advance within the company.

    Advice to Management

It would be nice to have more opportunities to advance in your career path. Leadership or management trainee programs would be nice for leasing employees who would like to be a property manager one day.

I have been working at Draper and Kramer part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I get to sit behind a desk, get to know the residents, study on my free time. Perfect college job.

    Cons

I have back problems, so standing up is difficult at times. It depends on the building. One of the cons of this job is some buildings with this company pay you less than the average.

    Advice to Management

I recommend making sure that your pay is equal at all the buildings that you manage. Getting paid $2 less per hour at another building makes that building undesirable.
