    Pros

interesting and challenging work. Great people to work with. Good resources. Adequate pay. Good work and private life work balance.

    Cons

Cyclic business with ups and downs. Work can get slow but if you are willing to look for ways to improve the products or process, you will never run out of things to do.

    Advice to Management

Don't push product out the door at the end of each quarter just to meet projections. It causes mistakes and damages the company's reputation when sub standard product is shipped.

    Pros

Very intelligent and extremely talented people to work with, management is easily accessible. Good attempts at community building and interfacing outside of work. Flexible work conditions depending on manager and department.

    Cons

Talent is not developed. Little to no training, abilities of employees are EXTREMELY under-utilized. The staff is cut so low in important positions that people who are good employees are pushed past the point of breaking, continually asked to do more while providing these people with less resources. Other areas have more employees than are needed and do not provide a value added service. This is a boys club. Men start off making significantly more money, they are continually promoted and given bigger raises than women. Very sexist organization. Verbally abusive from upper management down, this abusive negative behavior is funneled down from the top and gets worse the lower in the organization you get. Business focus is to outsource, no pride in the product that is able to be built on site. There is a big riff between the company in the union which is not conducive to a positive work environment. Way too much finger pointing and wanting to know who is to blame. Playing the blame game is rewarded.

    Advice to Management

Implement a on-boarding training program to develop and maintain new employees. Provide proper training for employees to succeed when promoted rather than throwing them into a a new position to sink or swim.

CHANGE the mentality!! This reinforced negative reaction to everything is extremely detrimental to almost all the employees and comes from the top. Stop trying to figure out who is to blame and work to develop lasting solutions. Invest the time and resources to develop and implement these solutions.
