I have been working at Dresser-Rand full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Working at Dresser-Rand is like working in a big family; we know one another; we work with one another.
Any employee will always take the time to explain you a concept you do not understand.
My managers always listen to what I have to say and take into account my comments.

    Cons

There is no long-term career plan for employee.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Dresser-Rand full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Large machinery is interesting work. The people on the ground floor are generally quality individuals. The potential for company growth is immense. Siemens ownership creates global opportunities and cross functional learning.

    Cons

The lack of leadership, communication, and foresight are global issues within D-R. Talk of fixing issues have resulted in zero real changes over 5 years with the policies enacted resulting in decreased client satisfaction. Unethical actions towards employees with HR acts as a backstop for management instead of an advocate for employees.

    Advice to Management

Learn the difference between tactics and strategy. Communicate with your employees. Follow words with action. Management 101.
