    I worked at Dresser-Rand full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I would have said flexibility and family. Oh and 401K

    Cons

Don't care if you have new ideas, Don't care about your family life work comes first no matter what. Managers are two faced and continually go back on there word. Pay sucks as do raises.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of most senior positioned people as they are stuck in their ways and fail to inspire new talent. Like i said most of them but not all. Allow more flexibility in work schedule for all employees.

    "Blue Collar Leadership"

Former Employee - Program Manager in Olean, NY
Former Employee - Program Manager in Olean, NY

    I worked at Dresser-Rand full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pay is good. Senior technical experts are excellent. Talented people are very nice to interact with, although their numbers are very low.

    Cons

It is 100+ year old company and does feel like it. Leadership is blue collar ... undereducated and lack of global experience. Watch out for politics. Horrible experience with people at their Albany, NY steam turbine group. Could not believe they are actually engineers.

    Advice to Management

Accept the fact that you are not qualified to lead and be brave to step down. Let Siemens leadership take over (since you are part of Siemens now).
