    Pros

Good salary and some good co-workers

    Cons

Union is constantly at war with management. It is really a toxic relationship. Top management turnover is rapid which causes yo-yo effect on projects. They bring in worthless consultants to band aid problems.

    Advice to Management

Get a long term plan and stick to it. Create a functioning culture for all employees.

    Pros

Talented and dedicated co-workers, strong brand and history

    Cons

Mediocre benefits and comp; politicians not leaders; Siemens acquisition is killing off best things about the company

    Advice to Management

Learn and practice real leadership skills instead of focusing on yourselves. Listen to and value your people, you will lose more and more once the market turns around.

    Pros

Hours, benefits. Other then management the others employees are great people.

    Cons

Management is cut throat. Hired my replacement, had me train him then let me go 3 days after i closed on my house, exhausting my savings. The day after my wife totals her car and while i have a 7 month old at home to take care of. 3 months before my sons first christmas. Then HR admits it was the plan all along to do this exact move : have me train my replacement then fire me etc. Everyone there claims to be christian yet will stab you in the back for their own gain. My boss lied to my face 3 different times the day i was let go. They let me go on a Wednesday and he didnt even come out to speak with me that Monday or Tuesday to warn me , when he would normally check in daily with me. He has no balls to look in a mans face and tell him they are letting me go he just hid in his office till that Wednesday. Karma will smack you all in the face one day.

    Advice to Management

How about worry about your employees. Dont look at them as items to just throw to the side when you see fit. Karma is a son of a gun.

I worked at Dresser-Rand (More than a year)

    Pros

    Per diem, own hotel room.

    Cons

Everything about this job is a con. They show no appreciation for their employees, talked down and berate you. There is almost no communication. Getting any kind of info about anything is like pulling teeth, and they act like you are ruining their day for asking anything. Supervisors won't train at all. Raises are none existent. I could go on and on.

    Advice to Management

Learn what professionalism is and teach it to the people that are appointed said roles in the field.

    Pros

Big company with a small company feel. People are great and with the new Siemens integration there are a lot of opportunities.

    Cons

With the down turn of oil and gas, the initiatives set by management are extreme. Not a lot of explanation on targets or goals set by upper management.
