I worked at Driftwood Hospitality Management full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Quick paced, always learning something new, fun guests, the kitchen is great, employee discount, always room for growth, and a genuine staff.

    Cons

Sometimes explaining charges to guests with new cashier system can be a bit of a pain especially when their financial institution has a lot to do with it once they checkout.

    Pros

A company that really cares and takes care of it's managers in benefits and compensation. At Driftwood I felt like a valued employee.

    Cons

They buy and sell hotels so you have to be flexible on moving if you want to stay with the company long time.

I worked at Driftwood Hospitality Management full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I worked for them for 7 years in one of the hotels in Chicago. I grew professional with them and made a lot of friends along the way. The culture is a relax and easy to get along with Corporate Officer, and I get to travel for the hotel a few times. I was able to have a work-life balance

    Cons

I personally did not have any cons while working with them

I worked at Driftwood Hospitality Management full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great assistance from corporate staff, with extreme growth potential for those that want to work for it.

    Cons

Know the difference if your property is in receivership or owned. If Driftwood doesnt own it, then a band-aid at best is all you will get.

    Advice to Management

Even in distressed properties, a bit more revenue placed in will greatly increase profit margins as well as employee morale.

I worked at Driftwood Hospitality Management full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Getting a paycheck which is hardly worth mentioning as you are underpaid unless you are upper management.

    Cons

Intimidating, Condescending, Arrogant, Inconsiderate and Patronizing are just a small handful of adjectives to describe the current General Manager. If you are looking for an environment to enhance your skills and nurture additional industry education in a positive setting, this company isn't for you.

    Advice to Management

Stop looking down at those employees you feel are inferior to your position, pay scale and education.

I have been working at Driftwood Hospitality Management full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Terrific support from corporate on down. Open door policy that WORKS. Room for growth and Managers willing to mentor and encourage those in their departments. Team spirit and nothing but good vibes across the board at the Sunrise property.

    Cons

The only thing with respect to compensation I would change is the vacation time. It is not accrued during the year. You must wait one year to get paid vacation time off.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing so well. I am a firm believer that the GM sets the tone for the entire hotel, and Sunrise is managed exceptionally.
