    I have been working at Dril-Quip full-time

    Pros

    Dril-quip has some great people.

    Cons

Dril-quip is dependant upon the price of oil and the price is low. The CEO can be a tone deaf.

    Advice to Management

Pay cuts erode loyalty. the layoffs and pay freezes were difficult but an in some cases double digit pay cut for half a year then the announcement of the lifting of the freeze without the reversal of the cut means a lock in at the new rate and removes any desire of most of your employees to stay with the company.

    • Senior Management
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Dril-Quip is a smaller company so it is perhaps easier to learn many things because you can do various tasks.
Salary is good and competitive within the industry

    Cons

Benefits are not good, no bonus structure.
Company is on the cheap side, they only hire to fill a need not to grow employees within the company. This translates to no training, and no real way to move laterally or vertically.
